Great news, I think we will see some nice OOC games in the next couple of years. Things are looking up.

Great news! It's good to see some of the old New England rivalries getting back on the schedule. Can BC and Providence be far behind?

Maybe their conference rival Fordham will notice, considering the PL football rivalry, I would really like to renew the basketball game with FU

Great news, just hope it's not scheduled during Thanksgiving break. Would love a strong pro-HC crowd at the Centrum.

A game here, a recruit there, things just seem to keep getting better. Now some games in the NY tristate area would be nice.

Great news! Good work by Coach Carmody and AD Pine. and kudos for actp for bringing us the scoop and posting the truth some time ago that this series was there for holy cross if we wanted it! he's not so crazy after all for saying we could get a game on the dcu, eh?!? simply put, this is an excellent piece of scheduling. this series will bring some fans and will be a winnable game later in the series as we continue to improve. umass is a name team that is beatable on a good night for us... the perfect kind of game for us.

Is their any precedent for scheduling a 2-1 for perpetuity? I would assume everything is eventually made a rotating home and home or it just becomes a one time or every 10 years or so thing.

I don't think anyone ever doubted we could get a 2-for-1 with the 2 in Amherst. ACTP's claim was that the 2 would be in Worcester. I'm pretty sure most A-10 teams would play one game in the DCU for 2 home games.

Yes we can. Him leaving paved the way for HC to hire a coach who is unafraid to play UMass at the Centrum in what could be a neutral environment.

I'm pretty sure most A-10 teams would play one game in the DCU for 2 home games. Because MB was only willing to play UMass at the Hart, Kellogg offered to play 2 at the Centrum to get the deal done. MB refused. Bear in mind this is the state U that wanted to play in the second largest city smack dab in the middle of the state, not say GW for instance, or a school without a reason to do so. Not sure how people cannot fathom UMass' desire to play in Worcester and across the state regularly. UMass even played at Northeastern - on campus, in Matthews, as a late fill in for HC deal that fell apart a few years ago.

For perpetuity? Not sure about that. But after playing home and home with BC from the early 80's (played home and home every year prior to the Big East) BC and HC played for 9 years from the '97 - '98 season to the '05 - '06 season in what was likely a series of three 2 for 1 deals with the games in Worcester in the DCU Center. The next season ('06 - '07) Al Skinner decided not to renew the series because Holy Cross played too rough for his perfect gentlemen and there has been one 2 for 1 series with BC ('10 - '11 thru '12 - '13) since then. Hope it resumes this year as well.

Thanks for posting. Interesting that it's Worc-Amh-Amh as opposed to Amh-Worc-Amh. Could bode well for a renewal down the road. Calipari used to play a regular season game in the Centrum against different opponents. One time #1 UMass played #3 Memphis at the Centrum. Traditionally UMass has liked playing in Worcester (other than the time HC beat them back to back in Worc and Amherst )

I think the Pats have a Nov bye (but that was probably before ncaab starts) and a couple of night games in there.

Happy we're playing UMass but it would have been nice to play them in our home opener at the new Hart Center. Hopefully we get another desirable opponent for that game.
