Still down 3-2. 12 min left in second. Army going on another PP almost immediately after we had just killed off the first one.

Lost sport actually.....sucks up a lot of resources for very little gain...."We swept AIC!".....waste of resources/energy/$$$$....it's simply a sport that has no cachet in college branding....ask Union or PC

At least it is a way of expanding Holy Cross' international reach. Don't we have a number of Canadian players on the team? Might have had a few soccer players from abroad in the past (now?) and in basketball we have Clayton! P.S. Football had Eddie Houghton.

This game was for a while listed among some of the greatest college upsets of all time. Since that game, a number of "4" seeds have upset "1" seeds in the NCAA Hockey Tournament, a couple of which have reached the Frozen Four. This has made our upset "less special" over time but still a terrific moment. As far as measuring resources against incremental gain, baseball would have to be the worst investment -- and I LOVE baseball and would never want to see HC drop it. But college baseball in the northeast is for the most part a wasteland. Hockey is the total opposite -- it actually gets pub in this region.

Final game 2: Army 4 HC 2. Lost weekend. We outshot the Cadets by more than 20 between the 2 games and still got swept. Hope the Army goaltender Gahagen is OK (he went out late with an injury against us in West Point) as he is terrific to watch. While this team makes plays and outhustles and out-hits opponents for pucks along the boards, we fail to capitalize in the offensive zone. Big difference between getting a ton of shots and getting good shots. More offensive creativity is needed. Our team is relatively young with only one senior getting major ice time scheduled to graduate so hopefully that bodes well for next season. Not sure how many of you have been to a hockey game at West Point but it is a great experience -- I try to make it an annual trip. Cristl is a great arena to watch a basketball game as well but the atmosphere just isn't there. Army routinely draws 2,000+ for men's ice hockey but drew 1,200 when they hosted the PL men's basketball semifinals for the first time ever. Why is this? It's not like Army hockey plays at THAT much higher of a level relative to Division I than does Army basketball. Typically they are in the bottom half of one of the two weakest of six DI hockey conferences.

In the coach Berard presser after the debacle on Friday he says that " we did not execute" ..... "lack of attention to the details that matter" ..... "We did not get it done in critical moments" ..... These are all coachable things, paying attention to the detail, not executing, etc. Why are we consistently not doing these things all season long. Then after he says these things in the Friday night presser what happens on Saturday night..... exactly the same thing. Lost weekend and I hate to say it but what started out so promising earlier this season is turning out quite badly now. I hope that we can turn this around but another few losses and yet another first round KO of us in the playoffs will be a very bitter pill.....
