Cohen playing in the Tri-state Classic in Harlem tonite. Some other D1 recruits playing there as well.
I asked an on-site NYC hoops bird-dog about how Cohen looks and he responded: "He's doing good. You guys are getting a thoroughbred, a gem."

Nice to hear that report. I put TC as my choice on the "looking forward to seeing next year" thread. I'm really excited about his potential

What is the purpose of bumping this at this time ? When thinking about this, just ask yourself, wwhc70d?

We shoulda made sure we kept the guy that's (along with his family) in effect left two schools now. I forget his name.
And it looks like Marcellus Perkins is a worthy successor to Isiah Baker. Previous staff was big on recruiting durability.

Is it really necessary to rip into 2 of our players and bring up a staff who haven't been around for 18 months just because someone is expressing a hastily drawn conclusion about another player based one week of a freshman season and next to no data on that player?
Whether honestly held or just stirring the pot, it's an opinion and we all reserve the right to be proven wrong - including the coaches who signed all 3 players mentioned in this thread. Jury is still out on 2 of them.
Relax and let it go for now.

ncaam is obviously trying to point out TC's total lack of playing time. In your eagerness to pounce on ncaam, you are missing the obvious. Time to give it up.

Or maybe it is past time for him to give it up, at least until far more games are played

Other posters have pointed out the lack of mins for ALL the Frosh. So ncaam is entitled to point out TC.

Perhaps Coach Carmody and staff make an evaluation of when each freshman is ready to start contributing and allocate minutes accordingly?? Last year, for example, Jehyve Floyd played 2, 0, 0, 0,5, 0 minutes in the first 6 games, then 7,9,10,11 in the next four. I don't recall whether there were injuries to other players or foul problems beginning in game seven or whether that was just when Coach figured that JF was ready (knew the offense and defense, looked good in practice, had no overdue library books, etc.) to start getting some real playing time. I'm on record as being excited about TC JR's potential---and looking forward to seeing him play when the time is right. If we wait 25 games then something is wrong--three games is way too early to draw hard and fast conclusions.

People were speculating on this very board about Kevin Hamilton transferring because he was seemingly buried on the bench his freshman year.....without him, we might not have pulled out the title game against AU.

MP was mentioned above. Someone said earlier he was going to have surgery. Anyone know when? If it's a 1 year recovery is he pushing it?

It's always fun to question a staff with 30+ years of Div I coaching experience about their ability to determine whether someone is ready to play their system. Seriously good times.

Dave Hamilton played in all 31 games as a freshman averaging 13.5 minutes per game on an obviously vastly superior team to the current edition.

Consider the sources of the questioning 94 - tells us everything we need to know. This new board had a good 7 month run. Was fun while it lasted. Oh well...

If you're referring to Kevin Hamilton (and 2002-03), I don't doubt your stats, and yes, it was a superior team. But - more of his regular season minutes came in the first half of the season. The minutes dwindled in the second half to the point that his future started being brought up on the board (and I can remember the speculation like it was yesterday). . My point is just that things can change during the season regarding personnel.

My point in bumping this was to show how we were all gaga over TC, including me. I saw him as immediately taking EG's minutes. There is another, longer thread where the joy over all the frosh was unbounded.
I fear that what has happened in Patriot League football, which we all accept as true, the separation of have and have nots, is happening now in basketball. Bucknell has an outstanding team. Close behind are BU and LU. AU on the fringe. And then there are the rest. Recruiting is separating those teams from HC .

Bucknell is the clear #3 at this point, but has some potential to be good if the freshmen develop.

I'm not sure sure BU is better than Bucknell.
Lehigh is very good -- on the verge of being a top 100 team.
