Laf gets a FT, final score 56-54...not really .5 sec back on the clock Laf hits 2 unnecessary FTs Game ends 58-54 The frosh looked amazing in that 29 point 4th period. There may be hope for next year.

The PL tweet feed said first time in women's hoops that a #10 seed has advanced to the quarters.
Watched intermittently while doing taxes,... couldn't decide which was more painful.

Another tough loss that encapsulates the entire season. I hope all the guards spend the off-season taking a million 3's per day, if the can't improve and get more consistent outside scoring we will see more of the same next year. The addition of Faulkner should help as she is a 37% shooter from 3 and she takes a lot of them (over 700 in her career). I expect Manis will move over to the 4 and either Swords or Murphy will be the 5.

I am glad this team did not need to face Navy again. Gumbs is good for Laf, but for 3 periods HC Made her look even better than she normally is. Why didn't we see some of this all-frosh 5 earlier?

She was a non-factor in the first game, played very well in the second.

She was a non-factor in the first game, played very well in the second. She played well today. That makes 2 solid games in a row for her against HC.

Ha, I am thankful I don't and never worked for an accounting firm.. I have a non-accountant friend who does, and he has to file six state returns (because the firm generates state W-2s on the basis of hours worked within a state. And I reminded him, also a city return for NYC. And I would cheerfully do my taxes if I could parlay $15,000 into $24 million over several years time as this Catholic high school in CA did. www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-03-03/california-high-school-makes-24-million-from-snap-ipoJust think if HC had similar foresight and the connections, there'd be a new rink.

The PL tweet feed said first time in women's hoops that a #10 seed has advanced to the quarters. Not nearly as shocking as the 2006-2007 quarter-finals (in an eight-team PL), when #8 Colgate beat #1 Bucknell AND #7 Lehigh beat #2 Army. I'm sure 137 has fond memories . . .

the team played as if they wanted their spring break vacation not to be interrupted. the guard heavy roster turned out to be a big issue with this team. i don't think gibbons (if he's still around) can give the keys to rising seniors, byrne and doherty again by default. yday they went a combined 2-20 from the field and 0-7 from 3.
with no incoming guards, gibbons will have to figure this backcourt leadership out. springfield, morris, and smith just might be better players.

The team (read frosh) played the 4th period as anything but wanting spring break. Did you see the 4th quarter?

A hundred high school girls teams in this Country would have beaten the HC women BASED ON THE WAY THEY PLAYED IN THEIR LAST TWO GAMES. Cue rgs in 3..2..1

Actually, do have a guard coming in, Faulkner, who scored 1820 pts over 4 yrs as a starter, was a career 46% from 2, 37% from 3 shooter. Correction, we have 2, although Mazza is, I think a recruited walk-on who missed a big chunk of her senior year due to injury

If BG returns I will lose all respect for ADNP! Need to stop this madness!! BG seems to sense the pressure in his post-game interview. He harkened back to his early season remarks on needing to develop the frosh. He said he has confidence next year will see HC back in PL contention as 6 frosh join the returning frosh from this year, led by a healthy Infiniti. He stated he has confident in his players and in his coaching staff and in his own ability to get this done. I am not sure one says that unless they are feeling the winds of change.

Faulkner is a solid talent. Mazza is a question mark, but could be a real surprise. At this time of year, I feel like a fan of the old Brooklyn Dodgers or the long-suffering Cubs. There is always hope down the road and I will "wait until next year"
