The video stream is not coming through. HC trails 2-0 with 4:48 left in the first quarter. If you can get the tv broadcast, can you post some updates here? Thanks in advance.

We scored THREE points in the 1st quarter! These girls are being paid a quarter million dollars to play. I am sure the top two high school girls teams in all 50 states would beat our girls. That's 100 high school teams. And don't talk injuries. They're all full scholarship players. Absolutely pathetic.

Waiting for HC to make a basket in the first quarter was like watching paint dry.

Waiting for HC to make a basket in the first quarter was like watching paint dry. Yup. They started 0-13.

We scored 15 pts in the first half. They're playing like a middle school team. Unbelievable. How much are we paying the coach? $150K, $200K? They are shockingly bad.

Can't face the truth, eh? Or maybe you just don't know anything about girls high school bball. How would you describe their performance?

Can't face the truth, eh? Or maybe you just don't know anything about girls high school bball. How would you describe their performance? How I describe tonight's performance - which was bad - is irrelevant to your absurd statement. There is not one person who follows women's basketball closely who would agree with it. Not one in the entire country. Most of the HC players were among the top players in their states. To think there are numerous high schools, with players much younger than the HC players, who could beat them is absurd. They would blow out most high-level HS teams.

back to the game, that looks like one ugly effort. no excuses please, coach gibbons this game meant nothing to either team in terms of tourney seeding, and we beat them one week ago with the same lineup.
the lafayette game will be tough, not only because they beat us in worcester previously, but this team might have 'mailed it in' based on tonight's performance. very troubling and i think the time has come that adnp put gibbons 'on notice'.

bison & rgs- I'm not interested in their pedigrees. I'm talking about HOW THEY PLAYED TONITE. The fact they they were honored high school players makes it all the more shocking that they played so badly tonite. The five players with the most minutes tonite scored a total as a group of 22 points!! Know something else? A lousy coach can turn honored players into a lousy team.

Stop the insanity at HC.....it is far overdue for a coaching change ! A record of 8 - 21 for the year with many poor performances. Last night was truly unbelievable to watch and fathom that it was Division I basketball. There are very few talented players he has recruited to the program. The lofty perch that this program once had, has been gone for 10 years or so. Change is good and needed in this situation. There are two potential women coaches to look at NOW......The Tufts University & Worcester Academy coach to right the ship.

I'm trying to be as nice as I can about this as I don't go to (or usually watch) HC women's games (shame on me as my daughter is a high school player) and am looking at the situation from afar, but....
Does anyone who pays attention to the program feel that Bill Gibbons' coaching career is NOT going to end badly? In retrospect, the time for him to bow out gracefully was probably the end of the full season after he was reinstated.
No excuse, but it hasn't helped that seemingly year after year his best veteran player (Parker, numerous times: Scott, this year T-W) goes down.

Yes, no excuses regarding injuries, just look at our games when we were at full strength. swords and hasenauer were not really contributing on a regular basis, but it is correct that th-waheed's loss has hurt (although statistically she was having a down year). this team was predicted for 4th in the preseason poll, and has underperformed from the start.
there are six '2' guards that have played fairly regularly (who are all coming back) and not one pure point guard on the roster. th-waheed (not one of the 6) at 5'10" has played out of position at the 3 slot all year (despite being listed as a guard). i.e. the construction of this roster was seriously flawed from the get-go. and the only legit 'frontcourt' d.1 talent on the roster is manis, and i have to give her plaudits on a fantastic season. her development will determine if next year's team will improve (i fear they will not compete for a title though)

I decided long ago that there is really no point in me speculating about the future of any coach as I am rarely correct and often woefully wrong. That said, if we are in the market for a new coach, I am fairly certain that Ms Berube will not be in play (she has turned down numerous offers from much bigger & better programs over the last few years) or Sherry Levin (Nothing I've seen from NP would suggest he's going to hire someone whose entire career has been spent in the HS ranks).
