There's no sum large enough to make a school in New England competitive nationally in baseball. Cross baseball off your post and you would garner some support.

When was the last time a school from New England made it to Omaha? Providence in the early 90s?

NCAA baseball regionals were set up differently when Maine made it a few times, as there was 8 geographic regions, so a team from the defined northeast region made it every year. I believe the geographic regional system was scrapped circa '88.

I think Stony Brook in 2012 may have been the only team from the Northeast to make it since Maine.

Only the AFA-RMU winner gets in, and the WCHA winner makes it 14. As for the last two spots: If BC & Wisconsin win, they're in. If not, PC and Ohio State stay in. What does the AHA tourney show thus far? How tough the top half of the league is, and how important home ice is in the post-season. A point in October is just as important as a point in February, and with 28 league games, there are a lot of possible points out there. Here's something to look forward to next year: Arizona State will be coming to Hart. And they'll be very good.

Both hockey and baseball are a complete waste of resources at HC.......hockey in the league we are in primarily and baseball due to New England weather and our academic calendar.....ditch them tomorrow.....if Pine had any guts he would do so tomorrow.

Niagara was a #3 seed in the West Regional in 2013 when it went 23-9-5 but lost the AHA title game to Canisius. Am thinking no AHA team has ever been seeded higher than #12 overall. Would trade them for the AHA title, but HC this year beat three teams that finished in the top 12 in the final PairWise rankings: PC (at DCU), Union, and Air Force (at Hart). Now gotta get some W's on the road!

Sorry, PC was t14 in the final PairWise. Interesting Regional in Providence. #3 overall Harvard gets PC in the 4 p.m. opener on Friday (Air Force vs. Western Michigan to follow). Am sure the Crimson are happy to be close to home, but it'll be like playing a road game. Local angles: Harvard associate head coach Paul Pearl '96, after hoisting a Beanpot trophy in February, is 4 W's away from hoisting another trophy. And one of PC's top players, junior Brian Pinho, is the nephew of former HC RW Mike Pinho '79. Both classy guys.

Only in the sense that it's easier for PC fans to get there...but HC played more DCU games than the Friars played at the Dunk. In fact, they didn't play there at all.

PC has played 3 games total in the Dunk since 2003... Air Force was right there with Harvard last night and were not blown off the ice at all by Harvard. I was more impressed with the grit of the Falcons throughout the game and never gave up.
