He plays for a West Virginia program but note that he is from Kentucky--a real plus when it comes to basketball for sure.

In a quick review of the You Tube video, he appears to be a master of the 4 pt. play. Hopefully, that continues if he ends up at Mt. St. James.

Twitter today (but not necessarily big news): St. Luke's is in New Canaan. I wonder if they know Mad Dog's daughter Since Chris knows everything there is to know about HC, they could just ask him for advice.

Nothing says "off season" like a two year old tweet. . . . Jonas Harper is at BU, Selvala is prepping at Deerfield Academy with no offers.
Ex Willard assistant Tony Newsom is the St. Luke's coach.

Moving the potential transfer discussion over here. The VCU transfer, Mobley, seems like a possible fit. From an article on him and a high school teammate who played at Richmond: “I don’t think his game changed a lot,” Johnson said of Mobley, a VCU starter. “He may not be the most athletic kid, but he’s very smart and he can pick a defense apart because he’s such a great passer and has such a great mind for finding the next [opening].” At Florida Air Academy, “We played like a Princeton Offense, perfect for him,” Johnson said of Mobley. “He could shoot. He could pass. … He would have fit in perfectly [at UR].” www.richmond.com/sports/college/schools/university-richmond/vcu-s-sean-mobley-ur-s-julius-johnson-don-t/article_e670dcbd-498d-597b-b00c-3ddd0a5f7eee.html

Big discussion on AU board about Brennan's status as a lame duck coach and what effect it might have on recruiting. The pro Brennan contingent think he should be given at the very least a short term extension as they don't think he can recruit successfully in current status. The detractors want him gone now. Since Carmody is in same position wonder what thoughts are on how this might or will impact our recruiting efforts.

Our friend NJJ reports that we are one of many that have reached out to Marcus Domask who de-committed from Northern Kentucky after the coach took the Cincinnati job. Domask is a 6'6 wing who was Mr Basketball in Wisconsin this year, averaged 26 points 10 rebounds.

Domask had a long list of mid-major offers, including Bucknell and American. Will be interesting to see where he winds up.

Maybe few of his previous offers currently have an open scholarship

We have no idea what the AD will do.
A one-year extension, with a buyout at the end of 2019-20, doesn't seem unreasonable, though Carmody might not like it or accept it. But rewarding March 2016 with a commitment beyond 2020-21 would be hard to justify, imho, given what's happened since then.

I wish there were some Domask level 6-9/6-10 kids still out there with academic school inclinations (aside from Prosper).

Better (but not great) chance of finding that on the transfer market.

NJJ reports AU got commitment from 6'9 205lb Kelton Samore. Claims listed as 3 star by Rivals and Scout, did prep year at Bridgton Academy. Apparently fills scholarship opened by Iorio departure. NJJ says he also had an offer from you guessed it HC. Seems like we may have more offers out there than we know about.

But rewarding March 2016 with a commitment beyond 2020-21 would be hard to justify, imho, given what's happened since then. The advantage of having a coaching staff in a one year "prove it" status balances the disadvantage of having a lame duck coaching staff. Maybe the coaches will harmonize better when they are singing for their supper. No extension has been earned and no early dismissal from a contract is warranted either. Regarding the 2019-2020 HC MBB season, the late George Allen and the very much alive Tom Brady said it best: "The future is now," and "Let's Go-o-o-o!"

The Valpo Crusader in the logo still wears armor and they still have a Crusader mascot. Lutherans must not have as much guilt as Catholics.
