Tweets today show that HC assistant coaches are in Florida and Pennsylvania. And, again, there may be other assistants on the road as well.

Is it just me or do the offers seem to be going to taller, bulkier players this year?

I think we do not have enough information yet to make conclusions about that, but I am impressed by an apparently new emphasis on recruiting in Pennsylvania and Ohio (at least at this early stage).

Breezy, this guy seems like a reach. I was wondering if you could list our recruits top to bottom based on strength of recruiting competition?

I was curious to see what type and how many offers were out at this time last year. I fully understand that what is reported on this blog doesn't mean Breezy captures 100% of the offers (although he does one heck of a job). At this time last year HC had 30 offers out by 4/25 - again, not validated. Right now as evidenced above we have 10. Of the 30 offers HC had out 1 committed (Degenhart), 1 decommitted (Kyle Moses) and the rest went to other schools.Based on this message and on the offers reported for this season, could it be that we really aim high at this stage of offers/recruiting (e.g. players with 7 offers including multiple BCS schools) and hope to land 1 or 2 players???

We don't want this kid Burks if he thinks the school is a university.

I have it on good authority that Breezy actually still has a day job and we should just be thankful he posts what he posts which has to take up almost all of his spare time. Thank you, breezy!

We don't want this kid Burks if he thinks the school is a university. I refrained from making any comment on the tweet. After due consideration, I decided that the young man deserves some slack since he is from Missouri and there is a University of Holy Cross in New Orleans (which is much closer to his home). If he knows of that school, some confusion might be understandable.

I have it on good authority that Breezy actually still has a day job and we should just be thankful he posts what he posts which has to take up almost all of his spare time. Thank you, breezy! Thanks, sader1970! (And, what's more, Twitter is blocked at my work location, which makes it difficult to monitor offers during the work day when I am in the office.) That being said, I'm very reluctant to try to prognosticate whether a recruit who gets an offer from HC really has interest in coming to Worcester. There are many intangibles that cannot be known -- in particular, what the recruit believes is important in picking a school -- does he want to play FBS (any FBS school) if he gets an offer; does he want the best possible academics, does he want to be close to home or go to a different part of the country, does he want a big school or a small school, and many other variables. I've tried to list for each offeree the ratings from the main recruiting web sites and the offers he has received from other schools. Some offerees have 10 or more offers; some have indicated that HC is their first offer. These are the criteria I would use to try to respond to the inquiry, so the information is there to try to rank-order the recruits. I'm just not sure it's a meaningful exercise. Undoubtedly, some of these offers are indeed reaches. But I have the sense that the HC coaching staff has decided that it will not back away from making offers to "reach" candidates. If we can hit the jackpot with just a couple of them, it could make a real difference in the overall strength of the recruiting class.

Simple rule. If you dont reach, you dont get. PL doesnt win many of these but we do get some. From what I can see most of PL does front load reaches. Makes sense as most will verbal to one of their FBS offers thereby clearing a standing offer for coaches to pursure another prospect.
