I read a lot of books about baseball from the 1920s to the 1950s (Ruth to Williams, let say.) As Hartford welcomes (hopefully soon given construction delays) the AA Yard Goats, Don Amore of the Courant wrote an interesting piece about the departure of the city's last pro team, the Chiefs in the early 1950's. For those who like the history of baseball and for those who marvel at the changes in professional sports, it is an interesting quick read. www.courant.com/sports/baseball/hc-last-days-of-the-chiefs-0515-20160514-story.html
