Proposed Worcester stadium site at former Wyman Gordon location Present: Artist rendering of park Mockup of proposed but never acted upon NE Revolution Stadium on this site Hard to tell from the baseball sketch, but that soccer version sure looks like it goes into that section of the property near the railroad tracks that Wyman-Gordon is still using

The Pawtucket Red Sox ended their home season at McCoy Stadium yesterday. Per the Providence Journal:
Pawtucket’s season attendance finished at 409,960, an average of 6,406 over 64 home dates. That’s a slight uptick from last year’s total of 407,097 — the fewest fans the PawSox had drawn since 1991 — and considerably more than the average of 6,067 over 67 home dates.

So unlike Fitton, no flood zone down there ? The Main Street Bridge is in the center of the rendering. There is a 25 foot waterfall drop in the Blackstone River beneath it. The stadium site is just to the south of the bridge and is below the drop and is high above the level of the river. The stadium site is probably very close to the bridge roadbed elevation. Main Street Bridge Photos Route 95 Bridge over the Blackstone just south of stadium site. Stadium site is between the Main St and Rte 95 bridges on the east bank (to the right behind the bridge in photo).

The first of six RI Senate hearings on the Pawsox Stadium bill was held Thursday night (09/14/17) at the Statehouse. It lasted seven hours. The current stadium proposal appears to be gaining some momentum. Multiple politicians, including the mayors of many cities (Pawtucket/Providence/N Providence/Central Falls/Cumberland/Woonsocket), along with several business leaders have come out in support. Even businessman John Hazen White Jr, a prominent government ethics critic, has publicly expressed his backing. a little surprised Worcester hired an economist from Smith rather than Victor Matheson. This sort of thing seems right up his alley.

Why does there need to be 2 threads on the exact same topic? Are you the thread police? Why not find your original thread and add to it, especially since this one says they move, but apparently they haven't.

Why doesn't HC full-court press to have the Sox play at the field on campus?

Fitton is only feasible for a brief while, a month, half a season, maybe, say. For example, if there were delays opening their permanent facility.

Hmmm? Name change from PawSox to WooSox? Hanover Field not even close to big enough so unless they decide to use it as a stopgap like the Giants used the Yale Bowl, this is a non-starter as a AAA team affiliated with the Boston Red Sox would pack them in much more than the non-affiliated, lower-level baseball clubs. Wake me up when they make a final decision.

AAA teams really drawing 6k regularly, day in and day out? And how hard would it be to expand the seating at HC? It would be a major marketing/recruitment opportunity, imho.

The Renegades in Dutchess County, NY belong to the NY-Penn Class A Short Season. It's a pretty big deal, and big business during the summer. Makes little sense, and not sure it's even doable for Holy Cross to somehow get involved in this, especially Triple A, a whole different ballgame

The Pawsox drew a total of 409,960 for 64 dates this past 2017 season, an average of 6,406. This was middle of the pack for the International League and was a slight increase from the year before (6,076), which was the lowest mark in 24 years. Their best year was in 2005 (parent Boston Red Sox popularity then at all time high) when they drew 688,421 for 72 dates for an average of 9,561.
