The FH team beat the Q 2-0. Quinnipiac outshot HC 11 - 4. The difference was the goaltending of sophomore Marcia LaPlante and her 11 saves. The team hosts Rider on Friday at 5:00 for those who might attend.

Seems like we have a chance to win every game with LaPlante between the pipes.

I agree. She makes the difference and hopefully will in every game.

the Q is now 0-4 so not a particularly good sign that we were outshot by them. This team will go as far as Connelly (scorer) and LaPlante (goalie) takes it. this sport is another example of unbalanced resources being allocated in the PL. Boston U (no.16) and American (no. 21) are both nationally ranked. (No football makes a big difference)

And I would rather be mediocre in field hockey and retain a (successful) football program. I am probably just old-fashioned.

'Key' word above "successful" football program. I agree 100 pct but it's got to happen soon

Spending on field hockey 2011-12 / 2015-16 (dollars in thousands)
American 852 / 1080 Boston U 1054 / 1169 Bucknell 445 / 878 Colgate 736 / 586 Holy Cross 525 / 806 Lafayette 654 / 867 Lehigh 377 / 809 Loyola no team
NCAA Scollie limit is 12 AU and BostU look to be maxed out on scollies. The HC goalie is also the ice hockey goalie. I assume she has an ice hockey scollie. Regardless, she and her scollie would not be included in 2015-16 as she wasn't matriculating.

Nope. No women's ice hockey scholarships until class of 2022.
