Harvard goaltenders had two saves, allowed no goals.
Harvard has lost two games, including to #2 UConn Margin of victory over Lafayette and Northeastern approaches the margin over HC.
Looking at the roster, Harvard has 10 players from other countries. .

Wasn't competitive at all...Harvard dominated the game and Holy Cross might have gotten the ball over midfield 10 times the whole game. In the circle maybe 5 times. It was by far the worst I have seen Holy Cross play this year. LaPlante gave up a soft second goal but the other six were unstoppable. Just looked up the Harvard coaching staff. The head coach is from the Netherlands and worked on the Maryland coaching staff before coming to Cambridge. Maryland is historically one of the top 5 teams in the nation and always competing for national titles.
The first assistant coach is the former head coach at Boston College where she was very successful going 121-75 before leaving for other things.

Harvard . . . . . a central theme in the Ben Stiller movie (Brad Pitt executive producer) "Brad's Status." A very nice movie about a father-son, college tour trip, to Boston/Cambridge and about a middle-age man (is 47 now middle-age?) questioning of life and one's position in the world especially when compared to those classmates with more money and fame. Will the smart, talented son get into Harvard when he is not a legacy? Poor Dad only graduated from Tufts!

now onto American ranked 25th, in D.C. on saturday. LaPlante will have to stand on her head again to keep us in this one. (AU is another non-football PL school that dumps a lot of $ into their program)

Harvard is very very good and could end up to be a final four team this year. Princeton will have a hard time with Harvard.

It really helps in that sport to recruit out of the country. Delaware hired a Netherlands based coach also and half the team was from there last season when they won the National Title.

For reference---the 2009 team went 5-12. International players were 3 from British Columbia and 1 each from Argentina and Zimbabwe. This 2017 team has started 702 and has 1 from British Columbia, 1 from Ontario, 1 each from New Zealand, South Africa, Zimbabwe, 2 from the Netherlands, and 3 from England

Why can't we be the Delaware of the North in field hockey? Small thinking.

Why can't we be the Delaware of the North in field hockey? Small thinking. Be helpful to get UConn on the schedule who is also in that mix of top programs in the country. It is interesting to me that Field Hockey in the states is considered a female sport while the rest of the world it is played as a men's sport. Only two sports that are more popular are Soccer and Badminton in participation and while only soccer and cricket are more watched. www.pledgesports.org/2017/03/top-10-most-watched-sports/
