Any other preseason scrimmages beyond Stonehill? D1 schools we don't play in the regular season etc...?

I believe schools are limited to a total of 2 exhibitions/scrimmages

I believe schools are limited to a total of 2 exhibitions/scrimmages I don't think that's true. BU had one against Carleton (Canada), has one against UVM Friday, and also has one against Yale 11/4.

Sounds like a third game is permissible this year if it is open to the public and proceeds go Hurricane Relief:
From the Cleveland Plain Dealer on 10/18:
CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The NCAA on Wednesday notified its Division I basketball teams they can play an extra exhibition game prior to the regular season, if the money from that game goes to hurricane relief.
This game will come on top of the two exhibitions college basketball teams are currently allowed prior to the basketball season. Those games can either be exhibitions open to the public against lower division (NCAA II, III or NAIA) teams, or closed scrimmages' against other Division I teams where the public is not allowed and scores and stats are not made public.

Kentucky will likely play a D-2 or D-3 team (Transylvania, maybe) and draw 20,000 paying fans.......

I would have thought that with such an inexperienced roster Carmody would have liked to play as many scrimmage/exhibitions as the rules allow.

We have 2, A possible Third was just approved by the NCAA. Not much time to arrange for an opponent, esp one who would draw enough fans to raise significant funds for the hurricane relief. BC would have been ideal.

Do you know if the 2nd scrimmage is against a D-1 opponent , I fear you're probably right about a 3rd game at home not generating a meaningful amount for hurricane relief although playing a 3rd game away would provide another learning experience for the freshmen.

He may also think he’d get more teaching/learning in with a practice than he would with a third scrimmage/exhibition.

AHH Sacred Heart I just get chills every time we play them in anything Can't wait. Well anyway, as has been mentioned a few times before, it's a popular game for the NY metro crowd to gather and cheer on the Crusaders

Hoops I'm a little confused is the Assumption scrimmage/exhibition one of the two events you noted or is there another scrimmage in addition to Stonehill and Assumption.

is there another scrimmage in addition to Stonehill and Assumption. No. Point was there was no time to schedule a 3rd one as a fundraiser if they wanted to

Thanks for clarifying hoops, have their been other years where the scrimmage and exhibition were both against D-2 competition.

Thanks for clarifying hoops, have their been other years where the scrimmage and exhibition were both against D-2 competition. Tough to say on the scrimmage. Because by its nature there are no fans allowed, the opponents don't stand out and some years I never hear who they are. The exhibition has been against Assumption every year since Tim Beinert showed up at Assumption. Prior to setting up the brother vs brother match-up, the exhibition was just a random opponent. A quick scan of the website shows there were some years with two exhibitions (no info on scrimmage) against non D-1 opponents - not necessarily both D-II

Thanks for clarifying hoops, have their been other years where the scrimmage and exhibition were both against D-2 competition. I believe it's very unusual to have your closed door scrimmage against a D-2 team. As I had mentioned earlier, it's my belief that Coach Carm is taking a totally different approach with this year's team, given the youth. I don't think it's a coincidence that there are also no open practices or games against the power conferences.
