The season starts Friday as the Crusaders head to Fairfield CT to take on Sacred Heart. The team will certainly look a lot different from the senior-laden squad that finished 15-17 last season as Coach Carmody welcomes 6 freshmen to the Hart Center and no doubt 3 or 4 will play major roles on this year's team. We've graduated players who accounted for 59% of our minutes played and 65% of the points scored.....but some think this is a talented freshman class. What is your forecast for the season? While we are looking for your overall forecast in the poll (don't forget to take account of however many games you believe we will play in the PL Tournament and beyond) it's more interesting if you break it down to OOC, PL, PL Tourney, Post-Season in your narrative.
NOTE: Dave makes a great point below that I should have put in this introduction: the descriptions are not important--Dave gives a great example--so feel free to add your own verbiage regarding how you would characterize the number of wins you project. Thanks, Dave.

OOC: 3-8 PL: 7-11 (8th) PLT: 1-1
TOTAL: 11-20
PL All-Rookie Team: Caleb Green All PL 3rd Team: Karl Charles
I'd be thrilled by a much better record, but not discouraged by a 20-loss season, if the team is making steady progress.

17-19....I think the freshman will step up big and the junior class will be very productive...Looking for JF to have a great season, along with CG, KC, and MF...AB will contribute..PB is the wild card, I think he can be the finisher HC has needed at the end of games..

Haven’t looked at it in any detail but went with 14-16 wins. More than that would be a minor miracle with 6 frosh but I will rooting very hard for such a miracle.

I'm thinking somewhere between 12-15 wins, but imho this is such a unique year (with the Sensational 6) that I'm not sure I agree with the descriptions that accompany the win ranges. For example, I could hear myself saying "Outstanding, these guys are good!" after a 17-14 record if the season included a late run, like say 5-1 down the stretch, with 3-4 of the frosh really establishing themselves. And as WooGray mentioned, a 20 loss season might not be the end of the world. It's just such a unique situation we have here.

Gonna be a struggle this year, imho. You're on record for "10 Wins" on another thread. Is that your "official" projection?

Don’t I have till Friday to decide a number? Of course--- It's just that I recalled your "10 Wins" statement from another thread, so when I saw that someone had ticked the box for "10 or fewer" I thought it had to be you.

Time to change gears I suppose...have only followed cursorily so far. I see (like many here) a young team getting better as the season progresses. My heart hopes for a Potter/Vicens type freshmen class giving us immediate results, my head says that it's not 1974 anymore. Splitting the difference:
OOC: 3-8 PL: 8-10 PLT: 1-1
12-19, but bettah days ahead hopefully

OOC: 3-8 PL: 6-12 PLT: 1-1
10-21 overall, As long as the freshmen prove they can play and continue to improve as the season progresses I will be happy and will look at the future optimistically.
Green a nd Grandison will make All-Rookie team

7-10 wins in reg season. Lotsa veteran teams to deal with in conference. Opening win against shu now a HC -2 possibility. Point spread compliments of ncaam betting services. I hope I’m wrong about the season.

5-6 ooc 10-8 pl 1-1 plt
16-15 overall
karl charles - 2nd team all pl pat benzan - 3rd team all pl caleb green & 1 of (austin butler, jacob grandison, matt faw) - all rookie team
a couple quick thoughts on the team/observations of our other posters's thoughts
- we will be much better at the end of the year than the beginning. i think the trajectory will be even steeper than what is witnessed for a typical team, in light of all the minutes our promising freshmen (who presumably have the steepest learning/performance curve) will be playing.
- it seems most of think we will take a step forward this year and win a pl tournament game. that, to me, is one of the biggest metrics of this season. i would love for this class to get a taste of postseason winning that i expect we will see much more of next year.
