The women will travel to URI on Sunday to restart HC hoops after the hiatus for exams.
Massey makes HC a nine point favorite (65-56) with a 76% chance for the win. Personally, I feel it may not be that close. URI is currently 1-8. They defeated UMass-Lowell to start the season but since then they have lost eight straight...to Minnesota, Samford, Jacksonville State, Dartmouth, Bryant, Providence, Marist, and MichiganState. It s an ambitious schedule, but it has been rough so far for URI.
They may see HC as a chance to stop their losing streak with a win at home.

PROBABLE STARTERS: 00 Ednija Lassiter G (So, 5'7") 3 ppg / 4 rpg / 0 apg / 25 mpg 02 Jalissa Ross F (Jr, 6'2") 6 ppg / 4 rpg / 2 apg / 28 mpg 13 Marta Vargas G (Fr, 5'9") 6 ppg / 2 rpg / 3 apg / 33 mpg 32 Nicole Jorgensen C (So 6'5") 11 ppg / 5 rpg / 0 apg / 19 mpg 33 Megan Oberg F (RS Fr 6'3") 4 ppg / 4 rpg / 2 apg / 22 mpg
SUBS: 31 Abby Streeter G (Fr, 5'11") 9 ppg / 3rpg / 1 apg / 28 mpg 03 Charise Wilson G (Sr 5'5") 4 ppg / 2 rpg / 1 apg / 26 mpg 01 Elemy Colome G (RS So, 5'7") 5 ppg / 4 rpg / 2 apg / 18 mpg 34 Dina Motrechuk C (Jr, 6'5") 7 ppg / 5 rpg / 1 apg / 17 mpg 04 Laura Perez G (RS So, 5'8") 2 ppg / 1 rpg / 0 apg / 14 mpg
With two 6'5" centers and a 6'3" forward, they do have some tall players, but the limited minutes for those players suggest they may not yet have developed the talents to go with that height.

HC off to a poor start. shooting 20% (hard to believe) and trailing URI by 5 (10-5).

URI snapped their 8 game losing streak last weekend when they beat Fairfield, so they're now 2-8. the rams have been a moribund program forever and it seems this year will be no different in the A-10.
Nevertheless, as expected this game is at their place and up for grabs for whoever plays a better 2nd half. Would hate to let this one get away.

The 20 turnovers by URI and winning the off reb battle helped HC to come back with a strong second half for the win. The women are now 5-5.

Amy Hasenauer made her first appearance of the season, scoring 2 points in 7 minutes. If she stays healthy, and if Swords continues to improve, that will take some of the pressure off Manis, and that's a very positive development.
