We will likely be favored to win just three more games the remainder of the PL season (all home):
vs. Loyola vs. Lafayette vs. American

How does that "IGNORE" feature work? I need to employ that before I commit homicide You are really on a roll tonight. CBC interview. Please ask about the bus trip(s). Pace good? We missed every shot we took. They found crack in defense. 4-5 layups. Petrie was expected to score 3 ball. Back guys too slow. We didn't take advantage of 11 turnovers in first half. They outrebounded us. We are not a good team right now. Nothing out of our JRs right now. Karl had good first half, not so much in 2nd half.

Horribly constructed roster.
Horribly coached team.
Time to blow it up and move on.

I kind of felt that the 2-10 Pards would be a little too strong for us tonight.

Serious question. Do we have an afternoon shoot around? Our guys don't shoot it well but we weren't even close, like we had never seen these rims before, never.

It's going to be a looooong ride back to Worcester! I have to admit that my patience is running very thin right now because while this young team shows flashes of potential, the script seems written in almost every game. Against good teams (URI, for example) we play close the first half. Against poorer teams like Lafayette, Colgate, etc. we actually have a lead and then 5-9 minutes into the second half, we give up a large run and lose the lead, sometimes closing the gap a little and then, total collapse and lose easily by double digits. There are enough players rotating on the court that no one should be fatigued by the end of the game and only foul troubles should be keeping our 1st stringers off the court when we need a push. And unlike any opponent I can think of, we miss wide open shots time after time. That's not inexperience, that's lack of performance. KC, for whatever reason, is not the "go to" guy we all thought he'd be this year. CG who astounded us with his ability to hit shots in traffic seems to have lost that ability. AB is a streaky shooter and while he can hit 3-4 from way downtown, he can also miss 6-7 in a row. This was just a pathetic and inexcusable collapse. Only JF is playing above my (our?) pre-season expectations.

If I was Nate Pine, Carmody would be in my office and he better have a good reason that he should not be fired. 15-20, 15-17 3-9. This is average at best. Watch the games, his teams can't score and can't rebound. His teams cannot even score fifty against Lafayette. It comes to a point where it is not the kids fault, its the coach.

One positive . . . Lafayette missed 33 shots and we rebounded 27 of them (82%)

More good news . . . JF 5-6, now 68.5% from the field this year. The bad news - four other Crusaders took as many or more tonight, and went a collective 12-35. Team FGA, 54 - when you have a guy who makes 70% of his shots, he probably should be getting more than one out of every nine the team takes.

One positive . . . Lafayette missed 33 shots and we rebounded 27 of them (82%) Like you, I'm trying to find any reason to think we are improving. Hopefully, we can put together some more respectable performances in this department. If this team could defend for two halves on a consistent basis, we would win some games. I like the Grandison and Butler but, as others have pointed out, we are not going to make the next step in 2018-2019 simply by the current freshmen enrolling in 200-level courses next year.

To make my earlier point on 3s (which KY loves), Lafayette hit 7 of 23 for a not-so-great 30.4%. Us? 2 for 24 for a grammar-school like 8.3%. So, they got 21 points from beyond the arc and we got 6. That 15 point difference more than accounts for the 12 point loss. Truly and utterly pathetic. Can't anybody on this team shoot?

Looking at a stat we used to celebrate, A/FGM . . . Holy Cross had 7 assists on 18 FG (terrible), Lafayette 15 on 20 (excellent).

Very poorly played games between two bad teams. Should have had much larger lead at half as Lafayette was dreadful in 1st half. As has been the pattern all year we fold down the stretch. Team has no go to guy when things get tight. Floyd doesn't get nearly enough touches. Butler is a tough kid but he is no knockdown shooter, his 3 point and foul shooting percentages in high school apparently were not a mirage. Don't think Carmody is going to turn this around but I don't know where program goes from here. It's almost a decade since Willard left and other than the miracle 5 game run the program has been a joke.

How does that "IGNORE" feature work? I need to employ that before I commit homicide Thank God that my daughter's team came from 16 back to win tonight. Otherwise I'd be calling out all the a-holes that are reveling in this.

As horrible as this game was and and horrible as this season has been, it is premature to even consider this at this point. CWC is laconic to the point where he often comes across as if he doesn't care, like he has a guaranteed lifetime contract. That probably comes from his many years being well paid as a head coach and has a nest egg and enough experience as a head coach that he is probably pretty immune to adverse criticism. That could be a good thing.
I was hoping that we would see much more improvement in the team by now but it seems that we have plateaued. Losing to teams like URI is totally understandable and even losing 2 in Northern Ireland is also nothing to worry about - they were decent teams. Losing and losing big to 'gate and Leopards is not acceptable. Being competitive for about 2/3s of games against weak opponents is not acceptable.
If we are still playing at this level at the end of the season a change should be considered. However, that's a big "if." It may just take longer than we'd like and perhaps this team will gel in the second round of PL games. [Fingers crossed!]

One of the most frustrating games I have ever watched! We are a really bad team right now! We could not make a basket if it was 3 feet in diameter! The only things colder than the temp outside here in Central Mass are our "shootahs" Oh well, the sun will come up tomorrow, it will snow on Thursday, we will return to PA and ........!
