leopards and HC are both 4-5 in the league. somehow they have won the last 3 contests against us in a series which has us leading 56-11. 'pards new coach Kia Damon could be the coach of the year with what she has done with this team so far this season after a 4 win season last year after seeing their best player transfer to GW.
We are due to get this one, and if not, I'm sorry to say this has the makings of another disappointing season for us - how many of those have we had recently ? With a W, we're back to .500 and coach Gibbons has a very winnable game at home on Wednesday vs. Loyola, and maybe we pick up some momentum going forward There really are no excuses at this time of the season with a veteran lineup (4 seniors in the rotation), and we've been injury-free.

Massey has Lafayette as a 3 point favorite (63-60) with a 57% chance for the win. This is a virtual toss-up , but I feel it is more of a "must win" for Holy Cross. The team really needs this one to start working for a successful year once again.

HC 23 - 10 after the first. Lay with at least 9 t/o s. HC moving a lot of people in and out of the line up today. Manis & Thomas w/ 7 apiece.

These refs are just terrible. Foul calls on every play. HC 31 - 21 w/ 4+ to go. Lay on 7-0 run most from the foul line

Well, that was a very ugly 5 mins by HC, Lay finished the 2nd qtr on a 15-0 run At the half, HC 31-29

HC 31-29 at the half after an 8 pt 2nd qtr - led by 17 in the 1st qtr - the 'revolving door' substitution style of Gibbons is sometimes counter-productive. no flow on offense in that 2nd qtr, and let the 'pards back in it

Apparently, Faulkner sustained a concussion so the week break is very helpful for HC.

Nice second half for the women and a BIG win with this upset at Lafayette's court.

Please - don't ever call a win over Lafayette an upset - if you do you're denigrating our program to depths we've never seen. simply an even matchup and we played better today than they did. very strange qtr by qtr scoring for us: 23 - 8 - 29 - 9
Nice setup for Gibbons' 600th win next Saturday at the Hart vs. Loyola. Will be interesting to see how the school and Pine handle it if we get the W

Plus, it was an away game - something HC has had "difficulty" with lately. Plus (one more point)...Lafayette beat us by 14 at the Hart this year!

Actually, they've been better on the road than at home, 4-1 road, 1-4 at home.

Actually, they've been better on the road than at home, 4-1 road, 1-4 at home. That has been the case, but a couple of those home losses were the result of some poor play by HC. The women are currently 3-7 at home and 7-4 on the road. Perhaps having a home game with fans there will help.

They have an good opportunity to finish their last 8 games 5-3 or 6-2 which should get them a home game in the play-offs. Having watch not only HC but a number of other games this season I think any of the top 5/6 teams have a decent chance of winning the PL tournament although AU, Bucknell and Navy are certainly the favorites right now.
