Article is almost completely FBS-specific but I think the FCS is dealing with many of the same problems just writ smaller.
I have no hard statistics but I'd bet %-wise, the attendance drop has been greater at the FCS-level (particularly in the Northeast) than it has been at the FBS level ovah the last 30 or so years.
I don't think there's a "silver bullet answer" to this....just prop ups around the margins etc
