Good to see this thread. The 18 recruiting season is over. Look to the future. They certainly are getting off to an early start. Great to see.

Good point . Let's kill this thread and write off 2019 recruiting There was a post on voy some weeks back that, IIRC, Columbia was already offering for 2019. I thought at the time how can they reasonably offer given the AI, and the likelihood that there are not yet any SAT scores for these recruits. I suppose you might extrapolate a PSAT score.

Ivies offer lacrosse players as 9th graders.

Good point . Let's kill this thread and write off 2019 recruiting I think his point was, it's not early, at least for FBS, many of whom already have multiple commits.

The general trend this year (FBS and FCS) was to front load the earlier signing period in December. We went the opposite way (for a number of reasons) and I think our numbers were 11 and 20. An earlier jump will help us to reverse this.

Its great to be cheering early offers, but, for example, BC has offered three players from MA to date. Two have already committed to other schools, and the third has over 20 offers. I looked at BC's QB offers from Catholic high schools. HC has not offered, but one has an from Yale. BC has already offered 29 players from CA, 21 from NJ, 6 from CT, 12 from Ohio. etc etc. etc

Breezy, How many days/hours did you get off before this new season started ? Less than two weeks. I even entertained the thought of not doing it again, but before I even had the chance to think that through, it started. "Just when I thought I was out, they pulled me back in."

Interesting - both offers so far to kids in California I think if you want to entice a recruit to look east at a school that's not exactly on the radar, one probably has to offer early.... assuming the recruit will be one with multiple offers. I think official and unofficial visits enter into it as well. 24/7 breaks down offers by state. I looked at Syracuse, only 6 offers to date for California, but 31 to Georgia, and 83 to Florida. Two to MA, both to recruits that BC also offered. Only two to NY. The geographic dichotomy is remarkable, and IH can fulminate all he wants about recruiting more in MA because there are good players in the state, but the recruiting picture says otherwise.
