Shame. We had a terrible end to the regular season, and have failed to advance in the tournament, once again, under Berard.
Seems like Berard is a good coach at our level, but his failure in the postseason at HC is something else.

We can always root for my favorite college hockey team, The Boston University Terriers. GO BU Headed to the Semifinals at the Garden! For Holy Cross, join Hockey East.

Shocking that we got smoked two games at home again. We are 1-8 in playoff games over the last four years. One win against a 12th seeded team at home and they ( Niagara won two and the series ). What is wrong with this team in March?

*3 losing seasons in 4 years. *0-4 in 4 postseason series. *1-8 record in those 4 series, including 1-6 record at home. *Outscored 31-13 in the postseason.
Great hire. We are ready for the Hockey East!

Holy Cross showed its commitment to hockey when they didn't do everything to keep Pearl and boost the program after a once-in-a-generation win. They failed to capitalize on an opportunity not usually granted to a program in obscurity. As a result, they have fallen back to average performance, [below] average facilities, average attendance, and average results. A lotto ticket landed at your feet and you waited too long to cash it in, or never drove to the convenience store to do it. Have fun keeping up with credit card/mortgage payments.

Disclaimer: I'm on vacation so I didn't watch the games, I just followed them on live stats. When I was at HC, we played Canisius at home and had no students due to break the first two nights. Canisius played well and forced a decisive game 3 which we won in front of a packed house. If the students aren't coming out with all the promotions and flood of social media we have some issues...
On to hockey...Dave Berard is a really nice guy and was a solid assistant at PC. He's had some recruiting success at HC (getting Pooley was a big win) but failed to win with these players. We had a terrific 2015-16 season but due to the awful parity existing yearly in Atlantic Hockey, we played a hot Army team and was swept out of the postseason. We've gone on regular season runs but the post season failure is unacceptable. This is a good point to sit down and take a long look at our program. Women's hockey will undoubtably have some trouble adjusting to Hockey East, but with their freshman class and the forthcoming recruits, I think they can score some good wins and will be competing in a year or two. Men's? Not the way we are going. For fear of sounding like a political activist from a few years ago...we need change!

He was able to keep Pooley’s commitment since Berard worked for Pooley’s dad at PC and knew the kid.
