AU wins over Navy 58-49 in a very closely played defensive game. Navy jumped out to an early 8 pt lead as both teams seemed nervous. For most of the game it was a 2 possession lead by one team or the other. Final score was determined by the traditional end game foul-a-thon & AU made their's.

In addition to AU in the Big Dance, both Bucknell and Navy will go to the NIT.

Q deserves a 9 seed and will play Uconn next if they manage to beat Miami - Q was left off this year's HC schedule in order to lighten up our ooc schedule. In the 'good ol' days', we wanted to play tough ooc teams.

Regarding schedule, the only thing that mattered this year was getting to 600 wins. HC just barely achieved the mark.Seems the rationale for the light schedule.
HC needs to recruit both nationally and internationally. Our recruiting seems limited to east of the Alleganies and north of the Potomac.
Would be great if the coaching staff expanded their horizons.
Anyone care to comment?

Who will pay for the international recruiting ? Many of the non American players are in prep schools in the US. For example on the men’s side, Ryan Serravalle, years ago and, currently Clayton LeSann. With telecommunications and huddle videos, travel can be minimized to find outstanding students who are also talented basketball players. Most of the recruiting today is also done on the AAU circuit doing the summer. Just a matter of having a staff that has adjusted to a new paradigm regarding 21st century recruiting. The 90 ‘s are past. Time to keep up with the competition.

That's not really the case on the women's side. some do prep in US, most do not.

Be careful of recruiting from long distance-- players can get homesick real fast.

What are other schools that have a high academic profile doing to be successful, in Women’s Basketball that HC is not doing?
Maybe not eliminating the possibility, before trying.
Women’s Ice Hockey has three players from Canada, and one from Austria. US Prep schools they attended being Berkshire, Taft, Kent and St.Mark’s.
Volleyball is recruiting extensively in recruiting to California and Oregon for athletes.
HC Women’s Basketball is behind the changing landscape regarding reaching beyond the Allegheny.
Homesickness may have been a factor when an older demographic was in college. With social media, FaceTime and Skype, it is less of a factor regarding maintaining your relationship with family.

Geography should be a factor only if that area is strong in women’s hoops. This may not be the same areas as hockey, or volleyball
