The dominance of UConn over the women's game highlights the biggest problem for the sport. It is lacking in competition. Will never gain much more interest until that changes. Games like St Francis and UConn are insult to sports.

Notre Dame knocks out UConn, 91-89, in OT. UConn came from five down with 21 tics left to tie it in regulation.

Notre Dame knocks out UConn, 91-89, in OT. UConn came from five down with 21 tics left to tie it in regulation. Tremendous game. UConn had a similar comeback in OT but ND hit a long two with one second left to win it. UConn had a chance to win at the end of regulation but missed badly on a decent look.

For those who think that the mens’ game’s refs are bad, last night’s game was an embarrassment. I do not watch enough women’s games to generalize, but those 3 last night were atrocious. If those were 3 of the 9 best.... The worst was when Gabby Williams got clobbered on the last second drive and nothing was called. A real game changer.

Rethink ? 2 years in a row i agree about the huge gap between the very top teams and the rest. Four #1 seeds in the final 4 attests to that

watched both of those games - neither game was decided in 40 minutes so the parity among the four teams was amazing and yes, the refs swallowed their whistles at the end. in the miss st- louisville game, the cards player was clobbered by miss st's 'mccowan' on a layup in the last seconds of regulation but no call I will say the physicality of the women's game has increased and the refs decided to let them play last night - these are tough games to call ! unless you want it to turn into a foul shooting contest (remember last year's men's championship game ? the refs were roundly criticized for calling too many fouls)

When I saw the Louisville play in real time, was sure there was contact and a block of the shot- on replay I was surprised that the big (very!) lady didn't even get her hand on the ball.....so not a good non-call imho.

Great final. Congrats to ND Agree. Especially liked Coach McGraw thanking us for our prayers. One can tell by my sobriquet that I was rooting for ND. Victory leaves bad taste because refs swallowed whistle when Miss State player was leveled at midcourt with 5 seconds left. McGraw should have thanked the refs.

That is absolutely true but MIss State's 'McCowan' made a smart foul with 3 seconds left - then the Miss St. coach blew it when he didn't foul after the ND throw-in as ND was still not in the bonus - just can't let that Arike have a shot - she was 1 of 10 from the field in the first half and then has the guts to make that kind of shot for the 2nd night in a row Gotta give her props - just amazing
