The first two tweets below are old, but I do not recall seeing them before and I believe this has not been mentioned on this board. The third tweet suggests that her commitment to Holy Cross is still intact.

As we do with football and men's basketball, it's always nice to know the other schools that offered her a scholarship. 5' 8" guard averaging 9 points per game could be significant or not. Are we moving the needle with our women's program with players like Addy ? - don't know but certainly hope so

Tough to see a kid named Cross going somewhere else. Welcome, Addy!

Welcome indeed, Addy. IMHO we do not welcome new Crusaders often enough here on CROSSPORTS. Hopefully, CROSSPORTS can be seen as more than primarily a place for complaints. Having said that, it could still be a bit of a crap shoot for any current or future athlete to look in here too often.

If you click on the picture you can see it is on the quad on the hill going up to Fenwick across from Kimball.

Tough to see a kid named Cross going somewhere else. Welcome, Addy! I can attest to that! My board namesake should have been a Crusader.

Thanks for the link. In the article six players are featured. Their scoring averages this season were 29.6. 28.9, 21.1, 20.7, 19.2, and finally our recruit at 11.6 ppg.

That shows why looking primarily at one stat can mean little. If her role was to find and feed open teammates, or to rebound, or if her defense was of the shut-down variety, that would be misleading if looking at and comparing only one number...in this case scoring average. I imagine you don't get second team all-state unless you are outstanding in some area or areas.

There are so many division and region categories for these all state selections it is hard to know what the significance of second team all state means. If the recruit was certified by Price Waterhouse to be between the sixth and tenth best basketball player in Pennsylvania, or the second best point guard in Pennsylvania that would be something different. At this point when it comes to recruiting in Pennsylvania, I'm from Missouri. Welcome to Holy Cross Addie and give Avery a run for her money at the point guard position. Maybe the two of them will be known as the A-Team next season.

I’m concerned when we have a 5’ 8” guard who scores at that level unless someone can provide lofty assists and rebounding stats - rgs promoted Kelly Petro last year with a similar low scoring average, and maybe she’ll develop but as a frosh she did not contribute. Let’s hope these type numbers do not reflect their D.1 abilities

Scoring "average" does not mean the athlete cannot score when needed. Kelly's strength was always her defense, but she did have several games where she scored high double figures in high school. I hope Kelly Petro sees more playing time in the coming season, since that would be her chance to shine. But, there will be a lot of talented players competing for playing time.

Petro has to climb over a lot of players to see action; the only two players leaving are Locke and Nixon (22 mp and 61 mp, respectively); plus incoming guards.

Since she was injured most of the year, hard to tell. Frankly, any guard who can show any consistency shooting the 3 or scoring for that matter, will get plenty of time next season.

Still plenty of opportunity for a 6'1" guard in the PL. If she is healthy next season it will be interesting to see if the coaching staff can create mis-matches for her when she gets in the game.
Speaking of coaches, there is now an opening. Do mid majors really need four coaches and a DOBO for 14 or so players?

Not a 2019 item but does anyone know if we have maintained our 2020 commitments and are there any available schollies for that class. A league note is that Lehigh just received a '20 commitment from Maggie Brown 6'1" forward from Tenn, rated no. 60 in the country by ESPN. I just have the feeling we have not been reaching for such a caliber of player in our recent recruiting classes (that's the only way to move Bucknell from their throne)
