I may have missed this being posted, but having 21 athletes receive honors on the Atlantic Hockey academic team is impressive. Congratulations to all!

Semi-serious question: Is the Atlantic Hockey academic honors at the same level as the Patriot League? Higher? Lower? Not sure what either standard is but pretty sure my grades wouldn't have qualified for either and I didn't play a varsity sport at Holy Cross. Final thought. I think a number of our hockey players are older and more mature, which may give them a leg up academically though I know some other sports have kids who took a prep year before entering college. Bottom line: an excellent achievement to be able to balance the rigors of playing a varsity sport and still exceed in the classroom. Congratulations!

I like that idea...to "exceed" in the classroom, not just "succeed." I hope that continues onto the ice, courts, links and fields.

Heres the Atlantic Hockey criteria To qualify for the Atlantic Hockey All-Academic Team, an individual must post a 3.0 GPA or better in all academic semesters for which his team was actively competing. I think the PL bar is slightly higher at 3.2 but only for 1 semester - the primary semester of competition - so Fall semester for the fall sports and it appears Spring semester for the winter & springs sports.

Your spellcheck has higher standards than mine. I like what it gave you (as opposed to what mine gives to me - ofren resulting in gibberish.) However, spellcheck and auto correct can sometimes be convenient scapegoats for my errors.
