He was briefly with the Titans practice squad earlier this year. Would be nice to see him on Sunday Night Football this week!

Does practice squad time give a player credits toward an NFL pension?

The curse of Kalif continues. In addition to the Jets going 4-12 and the Giants going 5-11, Vance Joseph was fired by the Broncos after consecutive losing seasons. Joseph, you may recall, was the one who announced on the first day of camp a couple of years ago that some other guy was going to be their starting punt returner over Kalif. How’d that work out?

Kalif has signed a futures contract with the Titans which means he’ll be on their 90-man offseason roster and expected to attend training camp with them next year. Pretty good news. Would be nice if he could make the 53 out of camp next year and get a full time gig for a whole season. He’s been so close for so long.

If an NFL playoff team has an injury in practice this week, could they sign Kalif "off the street" as they say, even though he has a futures contract with the Titans?

If an NFL playoff team has an injury in practice this week, could they sign Kalif "off the street" as they say, even though he has a futures contract with the Titans? No. He could only play for Tennessee if they were in the playoffs. Futures Contracts prevent a practice player from being claimed by any other squad.
