" CBC must be hoping to go out with a flourish after his 6th year. If that's the way it plays out, he'll likely leave an empty cupboard." (emphasis mine) If you are looking for flawed comprehension, look only at your own post. Six incoming recruits do not equal a coach hoping to go out with a flourish in four years by any stretch of the imagination. A "likely" conclusion that is based on the current coach planning now to leave in four years, and no other players with ability coming to HC in that time does not seem to be "likely" at all. l have to say I do not agree with your projections or the lack of actual evidence on which you say you based your conclusion.

Interesting. Will this be the last year for recruits? Yes, there will be 6 frosh players in this next class. However, there are more than 6 players on a team and I wonder how you know what the other players (none of whom appear to be known by anyone else) will be on the team in 4 years? If you don't yet know, how can you say the cupboard will be bare? HC92, Thanks for listing all 6 recruits in one spot for me! I don't and I can't. Which is why I didn't. I do know flawed reading comprehension when I see it, though. In my opinion, such a huge class imbalance will "likely" have that result. In the past two years (since Carmody took over), there has been one individual who has transferred out, one individual leave the program, and one individual redshirt. I'm from the perspective that the coaching staff knows how to evaluate talent (un-like the two previous head coaches). They have loaded up the 1 - 4 positions on the team and it is going to be an absolute battle for playing time. There are going to be 1-2 kids who lose out and decide to move on. Just my 2 cents...

Don't get how 6 in one year makes any sense whatsoever. I'd bet they are all better than the walk-ons HC had the past 2 years...That said, practice will be much more competitive, which will translate into better game play, IMHO..The upperclassmen will improve, the younger guys will improve, it's a win-win situation...And who knows if all 6 in the incoming class will make it to the graduation stage in the same year? Red shirt injuries, transfers, etc. DO happen..

Serendipitously, while I attended the 43rd Annual Capital All-Star game at CUA, I ran into my DMV/NJ/PA AAU guy in the flesh at the game along with a Harvard talent spotter wearing a Harvard baseball cap. What follows are some things they told me about offeree Kyle Copeland and what I observed followed by some other tidbits. There were two games to see at CUA. One a low major and one a high major game. In the low major game players Butler and Stewart played. They were OK. Both will attend the USNA. Ryan Copeland was in that game for the suburban team. He did not start. DC team jumped out on the Burbs in the early going gaining a 17- point lead, but an 8 point run by Copeland cut the lead to 12 at half. He carried the team down the stretch and miraculously the Burbs won a game they almost always trailed in, 78-74. Copeland showed good feet and positioning staying in front of his man on defense. Made two nice passes to cutters for baskets and cut himself a time or two for baskets. He was 4-6 from 3 land (one was a two with only a toe on the line). He hit two clutch free throws with about 30 seconds left. He's long and skinny, needs work in the weight room. His All-Star coach held two practices. In one of them Copeland could not miss. Per my friend who spoke with him, he has been offered by Bucknell, HC and AU and has serious interest from UPenn and Princeton. The Harvard scout said he will refer Copeland to Coach Amaker. This was a well-played game, not an AAU All-Star game. There were no HC coaches in attendance to congratulate Copeland on an excellent game. Missed opportunity in my mind. In the second game Rawle Atkins of the US All Stars was the dominant player. Totally out-classed in this game were OUR/LU’s Andrew Kostecka and BU's Scanlon. ****************************************************************** My AAU friend has seen Ryan Daly and Copeland. He sees Copeland, off to Phillips-Exeter, as a huge improvement over Ryan Daly, who can shoot but not defend. Can’t understand why we would want another stand and shoot SG. We need a big, no? ************************************************************************************************************************************** Caleb Green visited. He is a 2017 PG we have offered. A tich taller than AT. Dod not commit. Prolly looking for a higher offer. Doubt we see him again. imho Our old friend HC70 posted this long before Green and Copeland committed. He didn't think at the time that we had much of a shot at either, so I guess both are good gets!

Nice sleuthing. Too bad that poster is no longer on the board to update his thoughts now that these two players are scheduled to become Crusaders....

Would he be prepared for tougher academics? We need players. Isn't this why we have the consortium and summer school? Let's go. Remember, when The Wizard of Westwood was asked what made him such a great coach, he responded, "I had great players."

I believe that Ryan wants a higher level than HC. Saw him in hs. I thought he was not a good match for the ACC--pretty much only a catch and shoot 3 point guy. But he would be very good in the PO

From where would we get a scholarship? Would be good to have a third guy in the Stevens/LeSann class but not happening barring an unexpected departure.

Just a small reflection...if our HC athletes read (or hear about) CROSSPORTS, how do you think it makes them feel to constantly be told (after committing to HC and attending) that they are not talented enough and almost anyone who becomes available could do a better job?

Caveat emptor. Hopefully, coaches warn our athletes in the strongest terms NOT to read Crossports. If they do, it's at their own risk. I believe that the audience for Crossports is WE POSTERS. If we had to be concerned about athletes "feelings," we might as well shut the forum down.
