One other component to all this is acceptance rate at some of the better schools. Have to offer early to get kids on the radar with Admissions to fight that battle early on rather than asking at the last minute for a kid you might really want. Also helps in moving on from a player if you know early on they won't get in.

A DL - exactly what HC needs. Granted not sure where he fell on their board as they've offered a lot at that position.
Some have asked when verbals came last year. At this time last year HC had 154 offers out with 2 verbals (Butash and Blessing; didn't count Watson because he de-committed).
So 23 less offers out at this point. Hopefully after these 1 day camps they will get a few verbals.
Last camp date I believe is July 12th.

Commitments have ramped up over the past week or two, and at this point approximately 30+ of HC's offerees have made commitments. Overwhelmingly, these commitments are to FBS schools -- the recent commitment to Lehigh being an exception. In the past few days, HC offerees have committed to UCLA, Iowa, and Maryland. 247 Sports has a list of verbal commitments (for recruits in the Class of 2020 that are listed on the 247 Sports recruiting site) that is updated frequently. 247sports.com/Season/2020-Football/Commits/

Now here is a kid from Rochester, NY, really not that far from Worcester, and yet is apparently unaware that HC is not a university. Has he not read the HC Football literature given him and his family or just a slip of the lip ?
I'm more troubled than annoyed at this recurring a bit too often. And frankly, the equally recurring Worchester references don't bother me. Heck, remember it taking me some time to get the spelling right as a youngster.

Is it really a concern that 16-17 year-old kids don't know that Holy Cross is one of the very few schools that is a "College of"? I would imagine that most/all of the graphics & marketing materials that the coaching staff sends out just refer to the school as "Holy Cross" and a 16-17 year old hearing from a ton of different school (as I hope our high caliber of recruits are) is not going to be concerned with verifying that he is placing the "College" or "University" correctly in the context of a tweet. A quick search for some players who have been offered by "William & Mary University" or "Dartmouth University" twitter.com/search?q=offer%20william%20%26%20mary%20university&src=typdtwitter.com/search?q=offer%20dartmouth%20university&src=typd

You would think in this day and age that 16-17 year old college-bound kids would be at least as savvy to have proof-readers as good as the Holy Cross athletic department!

Anyone know the H2H recruiting record vs Lehigh last year of those that chose one or the other? Looks like it’s 0-1 so far this year and while that’s not enough to draw any conclusions yet, it’s something I think is worth watching. It will be a good way quantify the impact of the assistants, especially Coach DiMichele, leaving HC for Lehigh.

Quite sure breezy can give you exact numbers but since Chesney came on board Cross has kicked our butt more often than not with H2Hs I have little doubt that Noons and D Mike played a major part in that. They and Coach K have been a big part of the invigoration of our recruiting this year. How well that succeeds remains to be seen.

I don't really keep track of head-to-head recruiting with other schools, but it does seem that many recruits who are offered by Holy Cross also have offers from Lehigh, Fordham, and Colgate (and, to a lesser degree, from Lafayette and Bucknell). I feel pretty sure that Lehigh will benefit from the recruiting talents of Coach Noonan (especially in Georgia) and Coach DiMichele (especially in Pennsylvania).
Two things do stand out from last year. HC seemed to have the inside track on a DB from Georgia; he ended up at Lehigh. And Lehigh seemed to have the edge on a WR from New Jersey, who ended up at Holy Cross.
