This is pretty late to begin recruitment for a senior.

Any hints online as to why he de-committed? Walking away from an FBS full scholarship so there must be either other FBS schools that have contacted him or he soured on BC for some reason.

More likely BC stopped showing him "love" or just suggested he look elsewhere as BC found itself with better options.

If he is going to stay a DL, hope he has the frame to handle a significant weight gain.

He is listed as a DE -- which is part of the DL.

Don't our linemen typically add 25 to 50 pounds from their HS weight by the time they become, say, sophs? Plus--the weight listed above is likely from junior year or start of senior year in HS
Edit: Compared current roster playing weight to freshman roster playing weight for current DL's
Bucceroni (SR)= 245 vs 220 as freshman= +25 Cedeno (SO)= 262 vs 240= +22 Ebo (SR)= 270 vs 235= +35 Jackson (JR)= 255 vs 250= +5 Kuznetsov (SO)= 236 vs 232= +4 --was a TE as freshman Lowery (JR)= 224 vs 220= +4 Modak (SO)= 268 vs 260= +8 Reichwein (SO)= 243 vs 225= +18 Whitley (JR)= 251 vs 226= +25
Bear in mind that the freshman roster weights are likely higher than the listed weights on Hudl when we started recruiting them

The single most glaring need, IMO, of the remaining 6 spots in this upcoming class, assuming its a 23 person class and all 17 verbals remain in the boat, is DL and DE.
DE - 5 sacks as a team through 3 games is poor. I don't count the Navy game because they got so few opportunities.
The are loaded at LB; they seem to have a lot of athletes in the secondary.
With the exception of another TE which I believe they need desperately beyond just Hunter Lane, and a K, IMO 4 of the last 6 spots will be D. 2 DL, 1 DE, 1 DB.
Have to get bigger there, have to make more plays in the backfield, have to get more sacks with upgraded talent at those positions.

I agree. The problem is that high school defensive linemen who are 275-300lbs and are athletic almost always generate many FBS offers. The key for FCS schools in my opinion is to identify the high school defensive linemen who are athletic but may be a bit undersized now for FBS consideration but have the physical frame and work ethic to add 20-30lbs after they get into the school’s strength and conditioning program. You can’t make a player athletic but you can definitely assist him in getting bigger and stronger.

247 Sports has finally reported the commitment to Holy Cross by DB Terrence Spence (Commitment #1).
Surprisingly, after initially showing Spence as unrated, 247 Sports has now given him a rating of 3* (81).
