I'll wager no more than a nickel that its another game in Pennsylvania at a place where HC has played before. Carlisle School for the Indians? Really hope the 2020 BC game isn't being re-thought.

No football team. The ONLY reason I am willing to wager a nickel is that ADNP may have resorted to his Rolodex and negotiated a one-off with a former boss and found a way to pay for a new scoreboard at Fitton.

Don't be surprised if there is a game at one of the lesser 1A lights in Florida in the next 2-3 yrs.

Pretty sure a BCS team will never play in the home stadium of an FCS team again. Economics.

I was hoping for a game @ Army, now Army is talking to Alabama and Georgia, could hurt our chance for a game.

Can we please get a VIDEO SCORE BOARD. I think the guarantee for a game In PA would pay for a video scoreboard. Let me say that the source of this arose out of a conversation at Luth dedication, and I consider it at least third degree hearsay. I'm wagering a nickel only because of the former boss and that the B1G has reversed itself on playing FCS. .

OK....ENOUGH !
You all are all but saying PENN STATE.
If there's even a speck of credence to this, I'm gonna jump the gun and say I'm totally against this. This is not like playing an ancient and natural rival like BC. Nor is it a somewhat 'regional' one-time 'occasional' rival in Syracuse or a local low level D-IA program in UConn. We played PSU what, a handful of games in history....period ! Today they are coached by a crazy, overly driven guy who craves a National Championship. Money ? Oh sure, HC would get DOUBLE what the BC and Syracuse games pay....but I'll pass.
And same goes for Pitt too....if that's the whisper.

We need a win. Take the money and you get to play a game at PENN STATE! Besides, they played Georgia St last year. Won 56-0

Wow! If we thought the debacle v BC was a good idea because it made us more attractive to recruits, imagine how impressive a debacle v Big 10 Penn State would be to recruits.

Penn St has played both Brown and Colgate in the not too distant past. They really wouldn't be that much better most years than BC this year or Syracuse next year.

...don't remember anything about the Colgate game but Brown was in 1983. Different era; the bottom hadn't quite fallen out of the Ivies yet (but would in the next few years).
They kept it close, 38-21; although I would think that Joe Pa, being a proud Brown alum; had something to do with that too.

We have some tough games against BCS teams the next few years. Let's get better before we continue scheduling them and- get slaughtered. JMO.

We have some tough games against BCS teams the next few years. Let's get better before we continue scheduling them and- get slaughtered. JMO. Nit-picking here but the term BCS is now obsolete. There is just FBS (former I-A) and FCS (former I-AA). FBS is now informally sub-divided between P5 (ACC, Big Ten, Big XII, Pac-12, SEC, Notre Dame) and G5(MWC, AAC, C-USA, Sun Belt, MAC, FBS independents not named Notre Dame).
I hope our future FBS games are more competitive than the BC game this year as well! THAT is what would really boost recruiting. Let's not forget our previous two FBS/I-AA games prior resulted in a near-miss against UConn last year 27-20 and a WIN over Army in 2002.

I think both those games would now qualify as having been in the "distant past". They also played William & Mary at some point in the early '80's.
FWIW, even before the Big Ten placed the moratorium (with limited exceptions) on FCS games, Penn State almost never scheduled one. Typically they have had Ohio MAC teams and/or Temple on the early season schedule. They may have played Youngstown State in the last 2-3 years if my memory is correct but beyond that they might not have invited an FCS/I-AA to State College since that Brown game.

UConnvict is the worst 1A team in the country this year, and was nearly as bad last year as well, so the near miss isn't really anything for HC to hang their hat on.
