One might think that having no school last week would help in preparation for some crucial 'playoff implication' contests but yesterday was particularly tough = M&W Soccer - L,L = Field Hockey - L = V'ball - L (although a W on Friday) = M Hockey - L (weekend split) = W Hockey - L at UConn (L at Providence Fri - Hockey East scores are understandable) = M&W Swimming - L,L = W Golf - L
Let's hope back to school and a routine will help.

Let's home so! 2-8 is clearly not great.

Looks like 1-10 by my count above. Even worse than 2-8.

Volleyball and men's ice hockey each won on Friday and on Friday women's hockey lost. On Saturday HC went 0-9...ouch!

Hire an AD who doesn't actually know sports, get poor results.
A lesson that should have been learned with Dick Regan, but sure enough was repeated in spades.

Just for the record, for all those who think Nate was a bad hire, I would be interested in seeing your thoughts posted here for posterity as no one stays in these jobs forever and Nate has already been here longer than many of us thought.
So, let's assume Nate leaves within the next 3 to 5 years, maybe sooner, what credentials should Holy Cross be looking for? At what salary range? And bonus points if you can identify specific persons who Holy Cross should target.
Example: should we be looking for someone who already has been an AD? Focus on a young assistant AD? What conference(s)? Should the person be from the PL or IL to understand the academics? Should the person be a former athlete? Should the person have been a coach? If so, what sport? How much should we expect to pay? Should a woman be considered for the job? Does the person need to have played or coached at Holy Cross?
Pretty easy to say Dick Regan or Nate Pine aren't "successes" if you don't have to come up with an alternative.

I think the chief requirement should be a minimum of two years experience as a Crossports poster

Well said, KY. How about also having covered and written sports for the Crusader (not Spire).

Hard to see that for any HC Fan...but, sadly, all too true.

More of the same this week and weekend. Can’t find one W, nothing but losses. Today’s field hockey and men’s soccer losses (both at home) pretty much seal the fate of these teams Maybe one of our ice hockey teams can get a win tonight.
The performance by our teams can’t get any worse (I hope)

Oof...though women's soccer won on Sunday. I'm sure the hope is the Luth will help turn things around, especially with recruiting. How many years do you think that will begin to pay dividends?

Usually this sort of construction makes the biggest impact on potential recruits as it is nearing completion and secondly when it is brand new (A crossporter posted a study on this phenomena about six months ago.) The idea is that it represents change and a new investment in excellence.
