Aside from maybe UNH (and maybe Lehigh), who above has played anywhere near the schedule HC has so far: @colgate, @bc, Yale, Dartmouth @unh and @harvard? Sorry Bison.  |

I think Princeton and Dartmouth are very good teams. They could compete with some of the top teams in the FCS, just based on the eye test. But, it's a damn shame they don't play anyone. Princeton is averaging like 55 points per game, but they're putting up points against the likes of Butler, Monmouth, Columbia, Lehigh, and Brown. Dartmouth is beating up on Georgetown, Sacred Heart, Penn, Yale and, unfortunately, our Crusaders. Would be nice if they played a CAA school. It's hard to place serious stock in these rankings as a barometer of how good a team is when they're playing bottom feeders. |

Lehigh may have played as tough an OOC schedule: Navy, Villanova, Princeton, Penn, <<< all losses, and a two point win over St. Francis. Princeton arguably is better than Dartmouth, Next year's HC OOC schedule will very likely be the toughest in FCS., and by the season;'s mid-point, HC may very well be where Lehigh is this year. |

This season marks for 150th anniversary of the first college game between Rutgers and Princeton. A few years back the schools discussed the possibility of playing this season to commemorate the occasion - the idea was shelved in anticipation of Rutgers being too strong for the Tigers. Really too bad as it would probably be competitive for awhile (before Princeton would take over, the way things have panned out this year). And a big gate to be sure.

According to Sagarin, the difficulty of schedule ranks are as follows, year-to-date UNH #133 in Division-1 HC #155 Lehigh #179 Dartmouth #223 Princeton #248 With HC playing a string of very low-ranked opponents and UNH (for example) facing a stretch of CAA opponents, things will certainly change regarding relative strength of schedules before season's end. It is true that Dartmouth played a cream-puff OOC (Georgetown, Holy Cross, and Sacred Heart) winning all three games by a combined score of 112-28. Things do get a bit tougher facing their IL foes like Princeton and Harvard. |
