Our Sisters of Charity had some real baseball fans and we also got to listen to the beginning of games in class - then raced home to hear or watch the rest of each game. They said it was a reward for being good - but we were never a rowdy bunch in any case. I cannot remember the game broadcast not being played in class. Still, excellent use of proper positive motivation.

Apparently a good sign. Sox pitchers retired the last 16 batters in a row. Cora is a genius.

Saw it as I was driving in last night. I thought it was pretty cool. That photo is a better angle than I had

I yearn for the days when I'd watch the WS games in the afternoon (after school) when it would be chilly but at least played in daylight. I am not sure conditions such as tonight will bring out the best in all of these athletes. temps in the low 40's - 'feel-like' temps in the mid 30's - 17 mph winds from the nw. i admit it will be enjoyable to watch from the comfort of a cozy man-cave Funny thing about Tuesday, if it was an afternoon game; it would have had some in-game delays and/or started quite late. The weather was absolutely crazy that afternoon; including a tornado touching down a few miles from Gillette. In fact, I'm pretty sure if that game was in April or May, it would have been a rainout. All in all, a very unseasonable week; looks like next week will be more normal.

Ugh, can't believe this........I love Cora, but did he just lose the series by treating this like the pivotal game? Why keep Eovaldi out there for the duration? How do they get through game 4?
Where have you gone, Drew Pomeranz, Sox Nation turns its lonely eyes to you......

None of this would have happened if Roberts hadn't taken out the Dodger starter who the Sawx couldn't touch. Both over-managing imo

Cora over managed for about 15 innings, Robert's at least one inning. 108 I don't care, leave him in and win the game

My condolences to all Sox fans.A very tough loss in a game that will be seen as a classic. Even though I am a Yankee fan, I was most interested and when Boston tied it on that HR, I thought they would eventually get it done. However, I stopped watching about 11:00 PM because night baseball has never been my thing. Looks like they now have a new tradition for night baseball. Keep playing long enough snd it can become"morning baseball."

So, here's the rainbow for the Sox fans, you got so much baseball for no extra charge. Kind of like when I was golfing and figured when I didn't do well, I was getting more golf swings for my entertainment dollar.
Don't worry. The Sox will be back. They ARE the best team in baseball, right?

Perhaps one of the WS worst pinchrunner moves, first gets JD out of the game, then Kinsler nearly gets picked off at first. Over slides 3rd is nearly tagged out, then is thrown out at home, again never touched the plate anyway.

Agreed. Sometimes it's just as important knowing when it's ok to lose a game as going all out to win, and it was absolutely ok for Boston to lose. Shouldn't have used Eovaldi (scheduled to start Game 4) at all, imho - should have brought in Pomeranz and let the chips fall where they may. Now they have a real problem - start Sale on short rest with a bullpen that needs to catch its breath, or (ironically) use Pomeranz, with a higher risk of losing again.
Btw, believe Pomeranz (and little known brother, Stu) are the only 4th generation major leaguers ever - their great-grandfather, Garland Buckeye, made his debut 100 years ago.

That play could have ended the game with a Sox W.

Didn't watch the game (obviously) but why will the Sox be any more fatigued than the Dodgers? Overuse of a few pitchers? Thought someone posted above that they used everyone except 2 pitchers. How many did the Dodgers play?

How many did the Dodgers play? The Sox have used 4 starters in the post season. 3 of them pitched last night. Sox have used starters out of the pen all through the post season and it might come back to bite them Options for today are Sale on short rest (of course that just postpones the issue until tomorrow, Pomeranz who was good last year, but stunk all this season, or E-Rod. My choice would be E-Rod. He was the #4 guy up until he got hurt - and he only pitched to one batter. If the next two days feature Sale and either Erod or Pomeranz, I'd rather see Sale on full rest. On the other hand, the way this season has gone, Pomeranz will probably pitch a gem tonight

Buehler threw 108 pitches.in 7 Porcello threw 61 in 4 2/3 Cora overmanaged Buehler had never thrown more than 105, so I don't think I'd knock Roberts. Yes, I think Porcello should have finished that inning. He was coming up so in a 1-0 game where they weren't hitting at all, nothing wrong w/taking him out. But you don't burn E Rod who ended up being needed! The other gamble was having Pomeranz on the team strictly as a LOOGY as opposed to having Velasquez or Johnson who can pitch some innings (sometimes effectively, sometimes not).

That play could have ended the game with a Sox W. Right before that play they isolated on Brock Holt in the outfield. He was standing in a pile of what used to be grass but was now divot city. Then Kinsler slipped on the same stuff on the edge of the infield dirt (and should have probably eaten the ball at that point or righted himself and taken a chance Puig wouldn't get there, which was about 50/50 from what the replays showed). The kind of playing surface you'd expect if the game was in Oakland.

How many did the Dodgers play? The difference is, the Dodgers have their regularly scheduled Game 4 starter ready to go, whereas for the Sox..................any chance of a rare rain storm passing through Chavez Ravine tonight?
