The Sox only need to win one of the next 2 in LA. Coming back to Fenway leading the series 3-2 would be fine IMHO. Rearranging pitchers to go on short rest could mess them up big time.

Didn't watch the game (obviously) but why will the Sox be any more fatigued than the Dodgers? Overuse of a few pitchers? Thought someone posted above that they used everyone except 2 pitchers. How many did the Dodgers play? . If the next two days feature Sale and either Erod or Pomeranz, I'd rather see Sale on full rest. If sale throws today, you still have Price for tomorrow. He threw only 13 pitches last night.

If it were me, ERod, Sale, Price, Eovaldi (Game 7, gives him 4 days rest).
Porcello in the 8th, but not tonight.

How many did the Dodgers play? The difference is, the Dodgers have their regularly scheduled Game 4 starter ready to go, whereas for the Sox..................any chance of a rare rain storm passing through Chavez Ravine tonight? Dave - when I read this I couldn't help but think of the Boston Braves and "Spahn & Sain and pray for rain".

Winning 1 of next 2 may not be easy, if last night is an accurate barometer

None of this would have happened if Roberts hadn't taken out the Dodger starter who the Sawx couldn't touch. Can I say this again?

Well, that bases loaded double may have iced this game for the BoSox

Roberts’ pitcher #7 gives up another run.

Does Boston's win yesterday calm folks down a bit? Of course, the Dodgers can win three straight (as Boston did against the Yankees and Mariano Rivera) but can I say that is "unlikely?"

Haha, yes Rob, I'm at least a little calmer today. Cora has created such a never say die culture with this team. Just 24 hours ago I thought the team's pitching plans were cooked - now it looks to be in decent shape. If they lose tonight, they can mix and match with Sale (long rest) and Porcello (3 days rest) on Tuesday, and if needed, Eovaldi on 4 days rest Wednesday (although the Dodgers would have the Bueller kid ready then, and I hope it doesn't come down to that).
Interesting that Cora is more confident with Price with 3 days rest than Sale with 4 days rest, but who can question him at this point.

From the Dodgers perspective, if they survive tonight - maybe they consider Bueller on Tuesday and Hill on Wednesday, both on 3 days rest.

If they can just hang on another couple of months, they can play the World Series concurrently with the NFL playoffs and maybe even the Super Bowl. Can the Sox/Pats pull a Mets/Jets?

Looks like Sale is damaged goods at this point; hopefully only enough that he can pitch with 2 extra days rest if needed. Of course, I'm hoping he has 5 extra months' rest!

Similar to Hill, had the Sox off balance quite a bit. Maybe more of an argument there for being yanked too soon (at least in Hill's case there was some evidence that he told Roberts he was more or less at the end of the line). Oh, yes, except for the Jansen gopher ball on Friday night, the Dodgers' relievers were all lights out (1 very unearned run in 9 innings).

The Sox disaster scenario last night would have been E Rod getting knocked out in the third or fourth. He did the job and got the Sox back on track. I was pleased they brought Joe Kelly back for a second inning. It looks like they threw Kimbrel in the 9th because Brasier couldn't get ready fast enough. He should have been up with a four-run lead and runners on base. Waiting until it was five was a mistake. Kimbrel hasn't pitched three days in a row too often and has been bad in nonsave situations. I would rather have saved him for tonight. In any event, things are looking good. If Price wins tonight, he ought to be World Series MVP. What a redemption! Finally, did you see that a certain real estate developer tweeted remarks critical of Dave Roberts last night? He was right, for once.

Maybe, I'm talking about games 3 & 4 Ryu did load the bases, but hadn't thrown a ton of pitches. Two batters later, all three inherited runs scored.
