Welp, I was not expecting that final score. Nice to be on the right side of that. On to Lafayette.

So this is what the Duffner era was like. What seemed to be the worst HC offense since the start of the Gilmore era has today put up the most points in a game since the 2007 squad beat Lehigh 59-10 in Bethlehem. Engineers look like they can't get to the bus soon enough. I think we beat Georgetown 56-8 in 2005..

I was there with anpcpa, busboy and Tom. busboy left at halftime; anpcpa somewhere in the 3rd quarter and tom and I stayed until the end. He had no choice as he was presenting the MVP trophy . I stayed out of stubborness . For those who were at the '66 Dartmouth game, this was a walk in the park by comparison. Most annoying was that even though I knew they closed the parking lots, I usually park in the garage anyway, and got there an hour early. Sign said "lots full." Spoke to young RSIG guy and when I said "I see empty spaces and I have the season parking pass," his response was "the police said to close it up." Then while I as waiting, someone pulled up, talked to the kid and he moved the barricades to let him in. When I renewed my objection about not being able to park there, he said "he has a reserved spot, you have to park in the upper campus." I assume "Mr. Reserved Spot" was faculty - undoubtedly one of the elite 43 who suggested the Crusader be eliminated. I fooled them, I parked on Linden Lane in a place not exactly marked as a parking space. Despite all that, it was worth the trip. Having seen Lehigh play before, I knew they are bad. Just the same, we had identical records going in. We were successful, IMHO, because of the condition of the field. I never thought Cozier would be able to make the cuts that he did. And at the end of the game, it was still not a mud bowl. Kudos to the turf that must have 10" deep roots, the grounds crew and, yes, Nate Pine for having it put in. A half-hearted kudos to OC Murphy. The throwback to the tight end for a TD was sweet. Almost worked again to Cozier but Wade threw to the wrong shoulder but this time it was against a very strong and erratic wind. sader1970, Tom, anpcpa

What did we do differently and what different things did we do to be so much more effective today? It had to be more that just a weak opponent..., Would appreciate any insights

After today’s game, with the turf holding up so well, does anyone feel there is need for artificial turf at Fitton?
Maybe Yale should send their ground crew to Worcester for a lesson in turf management.

I think Fitton usually drained pretty well given it's arc in the center.
I have to say that it looked like the Lehigh and Georgetown of 2005 switched places - That was a very poor squad all around.
All that being said, it's always great to get a big win and invigorate the team - Let's carry this momentum through the rest of the season.

Caught the end of the Brown game in Providence on TV...their field was an absolute disastah compared to Fitton.

Domenic Cozier's 208 yards rushing was the most by a Crusader since Joe Segreti racked up 239 yards versus Dartmouth in 1990. It also becomes the 8th most rushing yards in a single game, dropping Steve Silva's 201 yards vs Bucknell in 2005 out of the Top 10.

For those who were at the '66 Dartmouth game, this was a walk in the park by comparison. Whew ! So glad that the ‘66 game was worse. When My wife asked today whether I would sit in weather like this for a football game, I proudly told her that I already had.

www.telegram.com/news/20181027/college-football-lehigh-noreaster-no-match-for-holy-crossUs in the background! I am wearing the black jacket. The purple tie worked! Fun game because they won. Blocking and Cozier today was awesome. I enjoyed it and it was fun, it was worth it because they won. Especially the way they won was awesome 56-0. I was in favor of running it up more after the skirmish argument even though HC was up 28-0. Attachments:

On voy, there is a thread on postponing / cancelling games in really bad weather.
Dartmouth at Princeton in 1950 was played in an extratropical cyclone, the winds so strong it blew the roof off Princeton's physics building. The refs had to hold the ball down over center to keep it from floating away. Punts went for negative yardage.

As I sat in the stands, I remember thinking it might have been better to simply sit in a shower in the dorm. At least there the water would have been warmer. Isn't it great that in both cases HC came away with a win?!

Several on the Lehigh board specifically calling for the Lehigh AD to be like ADNP re: Gilmore and make a change.
And this post
And it was pointed out, that no Lehigh team in the long tradition of Lehigh football has ever lost 10 games* in a season. (Asterisked to note there were numerous seasons with less than ten games.)

I believe I am on record of posting that attending games like yesterday and Dartmouth '66 gives you the feeling that you somehow more actively participated, not just watched the game. My wife was not feeling all that well and suggested that I stay home and watch the game. She's got a cold and I either just got over or just starting another one but told her "if I go to the game, Holy Cross will win. If I stay home, they will lose." Of course, my attendance had no real impact on the results . . . . but I like to think it did. BTW, shout out to HC16 for also braving the weather. Forgot to mention his attendance above.

Kudos to those who were in attendance yesterday! ! I don't believe I have evah not gone to a game because of wind/rain, but after staying up until 3:45am Saturday morning for the entire 18 inning WS game, I was in no shape to get to the game! ! And yes I and my date (now my bettah half) were there in '66 for the Dartmouth game! Parked my green and white Nash Rambler just outside the Linden Lane gate. When we got to the car after the game, she noticed that here raincoat had shrunk some 2" ! ! Swore she would nevah attend a game in the rain again! ! Lehigh looked like a really bad football team and they are. Were we that good? Well we surely executed well and were jacked up after the layoff last week! Congrats to the team, coaches and players! Hopefully they have turned the corner and can run the table! Feels great to not see/hear all the complaints about the coaching staff! !

Feels great to not see/hear all the complaints about the coaching staff! ! Careful there, 45. If we had a better OC HC Could have hit the 100 point mark. Instead because of a poor game plan, we were held to 56. Someone should let NP know and demand a change. (I just didn't want those who hold this opinion and have posted as much to miss it this week. There may be other opportunities down the road...but I hope not.) PS: The game announcers referred to the negative comments about the offense and said they might be lessened a bit this week. I think that was a reference to CROSSPORTS so we should remember there are folks who do read these posts..and apparently some pay attention to them.
