I am on record of being critical of Murphy's play calling in the past but also saying he should not be fired. Still feel that way today. We were playing probably the worst team in the PL this year and had 2 weeks to prepare for them. That some picked Lehigh to beat us demonstrates exactly how low they thought the team had sunk. For the most part, the play calling was most of the same but better execution against a lesser opponent. But kudos for the TD pass back to Mountain. That was outstanding.
We put it all together yesterday. As I previously posted, I was surprised - shocked, actually - at how well Cozier was able to run. While the blocking was there for him, many times he and other runners, Alexander and Oliver, were able to slip (literally, slip) tackles and in many cases break tackles. That may be less on the OC and more on the lack of Lehigh abilities. I can't emphasize how impressed I was with the field conditions. Fitton Field is like the rest of the campus, extremely well maintained.
Wade did play well and threw a number of beautiful passes in some challenging wind conditions and coupled with Dorsey's extreme skill, had some terrific TD passes. I really want to go on record that Dorsey will be in the NFL and will play, not be on the practice squad. He's got the size, hands and talent to get free if he has any decent QB.

I know it's been that way forevah...but the teams "crossing" each other at H to get to their respective lockah rooms is just ripe for that stuff happening. Actually it would be smaht on the Cross' part to position their bench on the other side for cold weather games. Some NFL teams do that sort of thing.

After today’s game, with the turf holding up so well, does anyone feel there is need for artificial turf at Fitton? Maybe Yale should send their ground crew to Worcester for a lesson in turf management. Yale probably has to do something like they did in Fenway. Essentially, they dug way down and created a "tray" that keeps the underground water out.

Thoughts on the game.... -Weather was awful. Wind came right from closed end like an express. Add the cold rain and it stunk. -HC warming up in Luth was genius. Lehigh looked disinterested as soon as they came out around noon. -HC played angry and it was an old fashioned butt kicking. -Wade played well. Dorsey made some outstanding comeback catches on balls thrown into the wind. You could see the ball dying as it traveled. -HC played with an attitude. The crushed Lehigh and let them know it. I loved it. -Lehigh should be embarrassed at the way they played. They weren't going to win but they quit in the the first half. This is why Chesney keeps bringing up the effort and attitude of the team. HC doesn't quit.

Cozier should get PL OPoW and either Brady or Whitley DPoW.

Feels great to not see/hear all the complaints about the coaching staff! ! Careful there, 45. If we had a better OC HC Could have hit the 100 point mark. Instead because of a poor game plan, we were held to 56. Someone should let NP know and demand a change. (I just didn't want those who hold this opinion and have posted as much to miss it this week. There may be other opportunities down the road...but I hope not.) PS: The game announcers referred to the negative comments about the offense and said they might be lessened a bit this week. I think that was a reference to CROSSPORTS so we should remember there are folks who do read these posts..and apparently some pay mention to them.Heard that, too. They struggled to describe what they were talking about but settled on "message board" so it seems pretty clear that they were talking about this place.
