Good time to mention that HC NROTC is doing well with approx. 44 students in our program. For those who care, I've asked our comms folks why the number of HC graduates who enter the fleet (military service) is not noted anywhere on our "points of pride" page, which lists all sorts of other service engaged in by our graduates. Keep you posted.
My senior year at The Cross, we had around 100 in the program. My senior class had about 30 and 5-6 became Marine Corps officers including moi. At last year’s reunion, the NROTC unit had a nice reception with the staff officers in attendance. However, I was surprised at the diminished size of the unit and the fact none of the HC students of the 30-40 officer candidates were slated for the Corps but one or two from participating schools were. As a side note, my senior class produced 2 Navy Admirals. Honoring any posters and family members who served!
