Unreal that this was HC’s ball in a 5-point game with a minute left. Providence hs been extremely sloppy every time they start to pull away but we keep giving it back.
Edit: HC’s ball TWICE in a 5-point game and approx 1 minute left.
Coaching just needs to be better for situational basketball.

A frustrating treat, but good to see HC being able to compete with a Big Ten and Big East team.

Both the coach and player can’t allow a 1-14 night. Either the player has to know they are having an off night and defer or the coach has to yank him. 2-27 isn’t playable basketball. That player needs to find other ways to contribute. He’s 6’5 - rebound or defend or get to the line. If you can’t do any of those three then sit.

That one will hurt until their next win. Just sloppy and to much careless passes. Also work on the layups. Providence is good, but that was winnable. Butler played good vs Sacred Heart, but the last two, not good. Needs to play better. Floyd, needs to be more careful with the fouls and Carmody has to have more trust in him, to play him. Also HC needs to play someone down low besides Butler on offense. Defense, they need help down low. Le sann might have been good to use and Niego in the second half.

I feel for Austin; I'll take him on my team any day of week.
Incredibly frustrating in that we had real chances (more so tonight) to beat power conference teams. I don't believe all the at the rim misses are indicative of anything other than (as nhteamer said) this team needs more experience against these kind of teams.
I do wish we had one more ready to play big on the roster. But, I am still very much looking forward to the rest of the season.

Since he had 4 fouls, he must have played at least a bit. That is not great for only 13 minutes.

Coach needs to control this team. Good coaching, HC wins by 10. BS HCBC didn’t miss TWENTY layups Sure, but have they practiced contested layups and scoring against tough defense enough? Or is the first team just shredding whatever’s left on the bench for wide open layups all practice? I have doubts that we’re able to field a second unit in practice that is able to simulate game-like conditions for the starters.

Down by 5 with a minute to go, its probably not the time to hurtle down the court out of control and throw up a brick. The very next time down the court he throws it right to the defender like he's auditioning for the HC QB position.

You go on the friar board and several are claiming Carmody just coached circles around Cooley......

It's kinda funny in a way.
Before the season started, did anyone truly believe HC could have had any chance to knock off either Michigan or PC?

I thought Green played excellent tonight, particularly in the second half.
Grandison also showed some excellent flashes, but tends to disappear for spurts because the ball can get stuck in a black hole elsewhere. Need to get and keep him involved.
Niego again had a very nice first half, then disappeared from the rotation in favor of Faw, who has shown very little.
Unfortunately, Floyd is not much of a factor in this offensive & defensive setup.
There are some serious holes/flaws on the roster that we will need to coach around and make major adjustments to if we are going to beat good teams.

My point about the coaching. Yes he didn’t miss 20 layups, but one guy he keeps in there missed about 10 and is 2-28 in last two games. Problem! Can’t have your big guy in there for more the 15 min because he is always in foul trouble because he defends from behind, that is a Carmody trait. Back off and retreat. Faw and Neigo needed to be in there together for last five minutes. Winnable game, without a doubt, just need to sit players at the right times to get their heads back in the game!

Very disappointed with this loss. Unless you consider A10 a power conference it’s another season without a significant win over a power conference team. When will we break through ?
I am sorry but Niego and Faw need to take some of Butler’s minutes. They deserve it.

Frustrating game, AB’s shooting stats for last two games are beyond belief but he will bounce back. Maybe he got his two worst games of the year out of the way in the OOC?
