24-5 GU at the half. One of the worst offensive displays in the last 5 or so games for the Crusaders. Defense is playing credibly, offense not so much. We can still win this game but Wade (or a replacement) has to play like they want to win this and Murphy has got to do better. Oliver needs to be in, short passes behind the line of scrimmage to Alexander results in lost yardage.
HC played a lousy, horrible first half of football. I don't think that it is appropriate to single out individual players for criticism but if I did, the list of players who executed poorly would extend the length of the page. So many lost opportunities, poor decision making, bad blocking, poor tackling and on , and on. Many guys played with their heads up their butt. Correction: Defense mostly played well. The coaching staff however is fair game for criticism. The players did not appear to be ready nor well prepared for this game against Georgetown. The play calling on both offense and defense was terrible. The team played horribly. As of halftime HC stinks. I don't see any real glimmer of hope for the second half but nonetheless, I will watch as much as I can, hope for a big comeback but in all likelihood suffer the ignominy of a terrible loss to the bitter end. This is a terrible, very disappointing way to end a season which in fact fell short of my expectations. Coach has a lot of work to do. LoveHC
So far, it's been downhill since the opening kickoff that GU recovered onside and went quickly downfield for 1st TD.
Not sure how much we miss Cozier who has played sparingly apparently due to injury in the last game. GU D is good but not that good. Wade not throwing well regardless of field direction. Judgement very poor with pick 6, fumbles and TFL when he could have thrown ball away. Again, too many short passes to Alexander behind the line that produced nothing as GU waiting for it. The couple of long passes were not thrown well, underthrown, but Dorsey makes the usual great catch.
Special teams not playing poorly as our punts have gone well inside the 20, in fact, inside the 5. One, resulted in the safety.
Agree that our defense not doing badly but offense is backing us to the wall.
We can win this if offense gets untracked but doubtful with Murphy play calling.
You know, embarrassing enough to have to share 2nd place with unschollie GU with a win but a loss gives them sole possession of 2nd place.
Oh, yeah, GU has more incentive for a win. Besides being senior day, they have not had a winning season in quite a spell and they want their seniors to go out winners. Oops. Just remembered we haven't had a winning season in quite a while either but even a win today for us won't accomplish that.
