Sacred Heart beat Army without the Ozier kid who lit us up. Don't know why he didn't play but he looks like the real deal had 26 in their second game.

Elsewhere in the PL . . . Lehigh handled Princeton, 72-57. Highly-touted freshman big, Nic Lynch (6-11, 250), scored 16 and hauled in 10 rebounds, coming off the bench. . . . AU pummeled UNH, 68-44, as the backcourt duo of Sa'eed Nelson and Stacy Beckton combined for 26 points. . . . Brent Holcombe had a double-double, but Loyola dropped to 1-3, losing to Temple, 81-67.

Saw Lynch in another game - looks like a Kempton clone.
League looking pretty good so far.

After Stony Brook, we are all on a "sugar high" but it certainly appears that the PL as a whole is on a basketball upward trajectory and we can't take any team for granted. I suspect this will be a major dog fight for the championship. We have a lot of weapons this year but I think so do a lot of the other PL teams.
I am sure Carmody is cautioning our guys to take these "one game at a time."

Stacy Beckton's best game so far at AU. Twelve points and three blocks in 20 minutes. He's playing on the ball this year, which is allowing Coach Brennan to rest Sa'eed more than he has in two-plus years. He only played 26 minutes last night. We held UNH to 28 percent shooting and forced 15 turnovers. Gasperini didn't have a great offensive night and we didn't shoot it great, but it didn't matter. Our two freshmen, Jacob Boonyasith and Josh Alexander, both came in and played well. Unlike the last two years, we're not depending on freshmen to start, log huge minutes and score in order for us to have a chance to win. The PL is, indeed, much improved across the board this season, and every game is going to be a rock fight. But we're not finishing seventh.

Please post these thoughts every couple of days because we keep forgetting your thoughts on the pre-season poll. I kid, I kid. We all know you are a little sensitive about it. Don't worry, the only one that matters is the one at the end of the season. Thanks for bringing your perspective to this board. It helps us not to get too comfortable being homers.

I think that for the first time in league history, nobody is going to finish seventh - maybe they'll retire that peg in the standings and raise it to the rafters in every PL gym.

League looking pretty good so far.
PL ranks 19th of the 32 conferences thus far, per Pomeroy.

Michigan beat PC by the same point spread they beat us. Of course, we also lost to PC.
So, HC is champions of our division and Michigan of their division.
Great that our guys got a trophy as we haven’t got one if those in a while. Oh wait, yeah, the PL tournament a few years back.

Colgate is going to be a tough match-up. Watching Colgate-Syracuse and they look pretty good but at this point neither team shooting well. Transfer from Northwestern is a big body giving the Orange a few issues.

With Howard back in the lineup it is difficult to read as of now where Syracuse will be in a few weeks, but Colgate can steal a W tonight -they do look improved over last year 1-8

In one of the best early season games I can remember, the Zags beat the nba dukies by 2. Both teams should be better by March, the Zags get Tillie back soon, the nba freshmen will improve.
