Michigan has 3 point guards currently in the program-Zavier Simpson (jr.), Eli Brooks (soph.) and David DeJulius (fr.) and 2 shooting guards—Jordan Poole (soph.) and Adrian Nunez (fr.) plus 2 wing players who just signed LOIs yesterday—both 6’8” Jalen Wilson from Texas and 6’ 6” Colin Bajema from Washington or Oregon who supposedly have 2 guard skills. In the case of the point guards, I think that Michigan’s decision on Lowder was simply related to already having 3 non-senior point guards in the program. In the case of the 2 guards, it was some of that plus the opportunity to obtain 2 wing players who could play the 2 and were 4”-6” taller than RW.
In short, I don’t see Michigan’s apparent decision not to offer DL or RW as an indication of their standing as Michigan HS seniors.
Within a week the Detroit Free Press will have its pre season ranking of the top 25 players in the state and we’ll see where DL and RW rank. I suspect they’ll both be in that group.
My sense is that each of them projects at a similar level to Austin Price from Detroit Country Day and Lehigh who was an HC recruit during the CMB tenure and who was a 2-3 yr. starter and top notch PL player.

If Wade and Lowder are on the level of Price that is certainly encouraging for the future.

Every major school that contacted Lowder said he was too small. A lot of the other schools that offered him wanted him to facilitate more than attack. He wants to be a basketball player. If that means pass, he'll pass, if that means score, he'll score. HC said, "Come and be a basketball player." After scoring 4 points in the first half last night, EMU has got to be thinking they needed a scorer more than they thought.
