Interesting to note that at 19.5 points/ 5 rebounds/ 3 assists our old friend Andrew Kostecka is the PL leading scorer and two time POW. I remember last year some on this board thought he wasn't much of a player and would have a hard time getting minutes at HC. Maybe the coach should have spent a little time trying to keep him rather than chasing the dynamic duo of Cohen and Stevens. Not to pick at old wounds, but with all their faults, CMB and staff were pretty good recruiters. They found a few diamonds in the rough, MMiller, MHahn and JFloyd among them. They were all nice guys, just not the best fit at HC.

In an interview when he signed with Loyola Kostecka said he thought he had secured his future a year earlier with HC but the coach got fired and that went away so he had to look at other opportunities. Sounded to me like maybe the offer was pulled. In any event as things turned out looks like a self inflicted wound.

not necessarily a logical conclusion to what you wrote and this is just one side of the story

American lost at home to Mt. St.Mary’s, 56 - 55. That’s a really bad loss as The Mount was 1 - 9 and Ranked 332 in Pomeroy coming into the game.

That's a bad loss, indeed. KenPom had AU 88% to win that home game and projected 77-64
AU went 3-23 on threes=13%, its worst 3 point shooting since another 3-23 night versus Temple 4 years ago

Fran M left Siena nine years ago and they haven’t figured it out.
Will Brown, who I think is a good coach, is seemingly having a down year.

American drops from 185 to 205 in the Pomeroy rankings. They were #177 before their previous loss to Howard. The Mount's only win before tonight was against D3 Wilson, and that game was fairly close.

Understand both, just wondering if teams have quit on both as there games don’t appear to be competitive

Will Brown, who I think is a good coach, is seemingly having a down year. As you know, Albany's top two players from last year, Joe Cremo and David Nichols, transferred to Villanova and Florida State respectively. Huge losses for an AE team.

Understand both, just wondering if teams have quit on both as there games don’t appear to be competitive Siena has been overachieving by a large amount, so their team clearly hasn't quit on Jamion Christian, who is a very good coach. Don't forget that they lost their top six players, most of whom transferred out when Patsos was fired or who Chriistian didn't really want. As for Albany, the unexpected transfers of their two best players may have caused some problems throughout the team.

Congrats to Dan Engelstad on his second D-1win and first against a D-1 opponent.

Horrific is the only word that comes to mind and we deserve whatever scorn anyone throws our way. Beyond disappointed in our effort against a terrible team.

Checking the MSM-AU box score and it looks like Gasperini did not play. Perhaps, as a result, MSM freshman Malik Jefferson had 20 rebounds.

njj Any word on why Gasperini did not play? Out with strep throat. But that's no excuse for getting dominated inside. We were outplayed, point blank. The only silver lining is that Josh Alexander came in off the bench and had his best game as a freshman so far, with 12 points and 7 rebounds.

The Mount had nineteen offensive rebounds, an astonishing 46% of the boards available at that end. MSM was +10 in extra scoring chances.*

BU beat Nichols by 12 Gate win over Marist (thanks ky) by 16 Nicholls State (D1, Southland; 21-11 last year), not Nichols from Dudley (D3).

The Mount is very young with some raw talent. They are getting better most every game, even gave St Johns a battle for thirty minutes. Dan E is a good coach and will have them respectable by the end of the season.

O'Hanlon has played twenty-nine games vs. D3 teams during his tenure at Lafayette, often more than one a year. To give credit where credit's due, he's a splendid 27-2 in those games.

Lafayette gets its 4th win, 93-56 over— Rosemont Division 4 ?? A really small college--635 students--11 miles west of Philadelphia. The school next plays Hofstra but is a member of the Colonial States Athletic Conference-Division 3 The team has two 6-6 players and one 6-7
