O'Hanlon has played twenty-nine D3 teams during his tenure at Lafayette, often more than one a year. To give credit where credit's due, he's a splendid 27-2 in those games.. To be fair to Fran, the two losses were both in his first year - when he inherited an abysmal team that had gone 2-25 the previous year. He used to play two a year often, but I don't think he's done that at all since 2006 - when they were still non-scholarship. Since then, I believe all the D3 games have been the first game following exam break.

I am sorry, D1 schools should not be allowed to play D3 teams in a non exhibition game. Thats a joke. What a waste of a game!

I sure wish the Williams game back in 2003 had been an exhibition!

BU beat Nichols by 12 Gate win over Marist (thanks ky) by 16 Nicholls State (D1, Southland; 21-11 last year), not Nichols from Dudley (D3). Nichols from Dudley (sounds British) is 9-0 and ranked #16 in D3.

So, Worcester county has a nationally ranked team. Just not Holy Cross!

WPI is knocking on the door, could crack the Top 25 soon. In an unrelated note . . . after all the team turmoil stirred up by the dismissal of Andy Sachs, Salisbury University is off to its best start ever (9-0) and ranked 23rd. www.d3hoops.com/top25/men/2018-19/week4

If they start winning, look for ringers from Villanova on the roster, the schools are that proximate. I predict, long-term, Villanova will absorb Rosemont like BC absorbed Newton Sacred Heart (which was a lot more distant from Commonwealth Ave than Rosement is from Villanova). Part of the Rosemont campus is closer to the Pavillion and the Wildcat's football stadium than Fitton is to Hogan at HC.

The BU loss to Bethune-Cookman is a real embarassment

Bounce-back win for AU after a terrible home loss to Mount St. Mary's Tuesday, with the Eagles taking care of a bad UMES squad today, 82-58. We jumped on them early, got multiple defensive stops in the first half and moved the ball and ourselves: 22 assists on 26 baskets. Larry Motuzis led four players in double figures with 15 points; Sa'eed Nelson had 11 points and 11 assists with 7 rebounds. Career highs in points (11) and boards (7) for Yilret Yiljep. UMES is awful, so it's not like we're all good now. But we did convincingly take out a team we should have.
Now 6-4. Last OOC game a week from today at George Washington.

URI up 42-35 at half Russell and others have forced Soto and Bucknell to start the offense another 5 feet out and taking away cutters while doubling underneath-surprisingly shooting 42% from outside the arc

I’ve seen enough from Bucknell to conclude they are the favorites to win the PL.

Match-up will be interesting as they have strength and answers to what we like to do offensively, the question is can we rotate quickly enough to take away some of their offensive options

Glad to see AU win, but that MD-ES team is truly dreadful. Team is 0-12 versus D-1 opponents with its median loss by 22 points.

URI misses a 3 point shot with 2 seconds on clock

I’ve seen enough from Bucknell to conclude they are the favorites to win the PL. HC is very comparable in top 3’s (Green-Grandison-Floyd vs Sotos-McKenzie-Sestina), but Bucknell is significantly better in spots 4+. Impressive win vs URI. (And I am jealous of them playing in this Hawaii tournament.)

Match-up will be interesting as they have strength and answers to what we like to do offensively . . . One advantage Holy Cross might have is that Nathan Davis has, in the past, been very stubborn about sticking with man-to-man defense - and the HC offense runs much better vs. m2m, imo. Maybe 137 can update us on whether Davis is showing more zone looks this season.
