Three out of six loses to top twenty teams. Four out of five wins against woeful opponents and one super woeful loss. One quality win. Overall grade: C

Certainly that is the glass is half empty point of view.
The glass is half full interpretation is that we are in the top half of all FCS teams. I am guessing that’s the best showing in the last 3-5 years.

Just like last year we had just one 'upset' in our favor (Yale, 31st) and one awful upset against us (Bucknell, 116) and some close games that went both ways. 5-6 record is C-ish.

I dunno...C/C- seems awfully harsh (admittedly, I'm a notorious "easy grader"). First year staff, QB questions all year, tough schedule etc etc...I'd give the overall team (staff, players etc) probably a B....played hard all year, 2 amazing comebacks, a 2nd place finish in the admittedly weak PL... a C grade just doesn't seem right given what the program was up against going into this season.

I agree on a B - the main reason is the better attitude going forward.

I agree on a B - the main reason is the better attitude going forward. I've taken the recent comments into consideration and raised my grade to C+. If a 5-6 record is a B, what would an 11-0 record be?

In a world where someone can get better than a 4.0 grade point, (A+), it'd have to be an A+, especially considering the schedule we played and will be playing in the future.

C-ish (that is vicinity of a C, not C-) on performance. Call me Dean Schroth. If we want to include effort, improvement, expectations, overcoming obstacles, breaking in new staff, changing the culture, discounting the FBS game, that would be a different story. 6-5 for me would be a B on performance this year...anything better would be A-, A, A+ range.
