I watched. CBC was his typical coy self, but I got the impression that he is very optimistic. He said the team is playing well. He was disappointed in the last ten minutes of the Albany game, but happy with how they came back and recovered. He likes how the team is executing - good ball movement, passing and reducing turnovers. Doesn’t like the fact that the bench is thin, only playing mostly seven, but they are working on stretching the bench. He said Harvard is very good, but he gave away little on the prep. Green also spoke. Seems like a great kid, we’ll spoken and it looks like CBC is happy with his play and work ethic.

“Coy?” 😊 Nice way to put it.
Caleb is a class act. As I have posted before, I was privileged to meet Caleb and Kyle on Move-In day their freshmen year along with their parents and both young men were very impressive - well spoken, friendly, modest and seemed thrilled to be at Holy Cross.
Really hope we can beat Harvard tonight!🤞

-Green was very impressive, and it's clear that Carmody thinks very highly of him. He's starting to separate himself as our third best player behind Floyd & Grandison.
-Carmody seems very pleased with the play of the team, but not happy with the lack of depth.
-Pine is a piece of work with his scripted questions from Lutsk.

And what's the point of "3rd best player"? To their credit, every player interview this season refers to team wins. Just watch them play, they love making the plays, doesn't matter who scores, they just appear to enjoy executing as a team

Is it wrong to say that Grandison is looking like, perhaps, our best player?

Grandison quickly joining a very strong group of outstanding current and former HC hoopsters who were lightly recruited by other D1 schools.

Remember when some on here questioned using a scholarship for him and wanted to "save it" instead?

-Pine is a piece of work with his scripted questions from Lutsk. Wait. You're telling me a guy paid by Holy Cross athletics, hosting a show on the radio with air time paid for by Holy Cross athletics, asked the Holy Cross athletics director softball pre-palnned questions?? That's un-possible. No other school would stoop to use a radio and TV show as a tool to highlight and market their successes & strengths. Next thing you know, the AD will host a "forum" articulating the administration position on athletics in the Holy Cross Alumni magazine.

Not to speak for all of the "objectors," but the biggest gripe seemed to be with having SIX scholarship players in the same class. As nobody had actually seen Grandison play, I don't think people we singling him out as much as they were speaking about the total lack of roster management that has been exhibited by Carmody that got us to a point of having SIX players in the same class. We would be in deep doo-doo without Grandison, so I am glad he is at HC, but that doesn't change the fact that the roster is not in good shape.

Next thing you know, the AD will host a "forum" articulating the administration position on athletics in the Holy Cross Alumni magazine. Of course I wasn't expecting Lutsk to ask Pine about the actual poor state of the athletic program (see records posted elsewhere), but opening with waxing poetic about academic scores from the graduating classes of 2012-2015 when Pine was the AD during only the final year of that stretch was a little much. Planting a story about Volleyball community service, and then acting like they had a great year (8-21) because they went 7-9 in the league for the "first time" in the coach's fourth year -- a one game improvement over the PL record (6-10) the year before she arrived -- was even more ridiculous. While not expecting a Lutsk to drill him with difficult questions, I didn't think it was too much to just expect a natural conversation between the two.

This Soph class has a long ways to go before it is "outstanding." Also, isn't it tough to say the roster is in "great shape" when there is only 1 legit big man, and he is a senior?

1. I agree, but the comment was made, IIRC, about this group "as a sophomore class" and in that sense, they are outstanding. 2. Not really.

I took some notes on a couple of areas Coach Carmody addressed
(1) "Coach, you've said that a coach doesn't know what he has in November. We're getting to the end of the month--what do you think you have?"
We have not established a solid bench, We're going with 7 guys and we'd like to go with 8 or 9.
I think we're playing pretty good basketball now. I've actually enjoyed watching the team and that's not something a coach is supposed to do.
The ball is moving around nicely
We have cut back on turnovers--it was 15 a game early on and then 5 or 6 or 8 lately. Some real improvement there
We still have a ways to go but we have established the way we're going to play, the way we can win
(2) Three players signed to NLI's
Both guards shoot the ball very well
Joe Pridgen is very athletic--can help us with the physical part of the game
These players can help us right away
(3) Defense
You need to limit the number of three point shots opponents take-make it hard for them
(4) Caleb Green
Very good against pressure defenses
Makes everyone better
A competitor--will continue to play through hard times
Likes to play--has fun out there
I liked him and his parents when we were recruiting him
