There’s a of noise here about the 1 pm start. Back when HC hoops was relevant, most all the Saturday games tipped off at one, and you couldn’t get a seat in the Hart if you arrived after 1. The traffic stretched from Hogan, down the hill and to the eastbound off ramp of 290. Marv Albert and Bucky Waters made appearances. We have a good product on the floor now. This thread is about a video, which is not a bad thing. K eep winning games and people will come, and the tip off time won’t matter to anyone. My sister in law is a PC grad. She and my brother have season tickets. They give the weeknight games away because they don't want to make the seventy five minute drive, but go to the weekend games. PC plays seven games on Saturday and one on Sunday at home. The latest start is 5PM and six of them are at 12 or 2. I know that this has plenty to do with television, but they have obviously taught their fans to come during the day on Saturday. If the product is good enough, people will come. I am not suggesting HC can get PC's numbers, but I think that if we are 7-2 the first time through the league, the crowds will be there in February. (Oh, and to connect to another thread, my brother is a UConn grad and had season tickets for a long time. He gave them up and just buys single game tickets when he wants to go. The AAC is not doing it for him and he would rather drive to Providence to see Big East games.)

HC could always go the other route and play later. I remember going to 9:00 PM UMass games

Second game after a men's/women's double header? Back in the 90's Calipari would do anything to get on TV. A single men's game would start at 9 or 10 if it meant getting on ESPN

HC could always go the other route and play later. I remember going to 9:00 PM UMass games It may be the league telling them to play at 9 - but BC has three home games this season that start at 9 PM. They played a home game that started at 9 PM against Minnesota for the ACC/Big 10 challenge and they also have two ACC home games this season that start at 9.

If it's the league telling them, TV is telling the league what to do.

It could also be a case of the Providence Bruins have priority and get 7:00 starts on Saturdays. Lots of basketball teams play Saturday afternoon. To the best of my knowledge, very few AHL teams do.
