Navy plays Rider on Sunday and that game should I've a better sense of their strength compared to the HC game against the same Rider team. Any reason why Navy and Boston Univ. are playing fewer ooc games?

Any reason why Navy and Boston Univ. are playing fewer ooc games? No idea why, but it's not a big difference. Both Boston U and Navy are playing 10 OOC games total. The max if you're not in a tournament is 11. It may be that the two teams just couldn't find an 11th game that worked in their schedules. But it is also possible that both coaches, for different reasons, may have preferred a couple more practice days as opposed to another game. At Boston, Marisa Mosely is a new coach implementing a new system. At Navy, the coach is the same, but they are a very young team, having lost their top players to graduation and transfer.. Their top two scorers are freshmen and the next two are returnees who didn't play much last year..
