Looks terrific - a potentially great addition. We also need bigs with the heart and desire and determination to rebound and play interior "D". Stay well, M I think our rebounding deficiencies (Let's look at offensive rebounds first) are due to the coach's strategy, not to any lack of heart/desire/determination on the part of our players, big or small. When one player shoots, the rest are told (I believe) to head downcourt. It could be that a couple of players (*) "disobey" or are allowed to go for the o-boards or maybe they just have an eye for where the ball might go (PB?). . Here are the offensive rebounds by player for our PL games 15= Austin Butler * 13= Jehyve Floyd 8= Pat Benzan * 4= Caleb Green 2= Jacob Grandison 2= Matt Faw 2= Kyle Copeland On the defensive end--as measured by KenPom's "defensive rebound percentage" we see in Patriot League games #7 Matt Faw #8 Jehyve Floyd #22 Jacob Grandison. I can't imagine that JF would not be among the top 2 or 3 players in the conference with his physical gifts---so is it our defensive structure that causes this seeming shortcoming? After all, HC is #10 in the PL in defending against offensive rebounds.

The matchup often leaves our 4-5 men on the perimeter when a shot goes up, leaving our undersized 2 and 3 with difficult box outs. The 1-3-1 is not a good defense for defensive rebounding, as is true for most zones since there are no set players to box out. Our 1-3-1 has Pat at the bottom who often is well overmatched for lobs or offensive rebounds. Also Jehyve often challenges perimeter players leaving him unavailable for defensive rebounds

We played the 1-3-1 during the two seasons before Jehyve was seeing much action. Joe Scott introduced the matchup last season. Maybe protecting JF was a factor, but probably not the primary one.

Understand but keeping the 1-3-1 is not the most desirable for the roster we have or at least with the talent the staff wants on the floor. For the kids to enjoy success Floyd needs to be engaged underneath-a3-2, 2-1-2 and trapping the wings and corner, m-m -playing to the talent you have—I know I am an N Of 1 so I will stop or at least try and go silent moving forward.

If Ryan can succeed in the SEC, I imagine he will do ok in the Patriot League....
