My daughter and I will be up at HC next weekend and I'd like to go to the game Saturday afternoon. I went online to buy tickets and discovered that Ticketmaster's fees are almost as much as the tickets themselves (tickets are $22, but $38 with fees). Does anyone know if there is another way to get tickets without these fees? HC ticket office? Would walk-up avoid the fees (and if so, how much risk of the better seats being sold by then)? Thanks!

The game has no chance of selling out at the 13,000 seat DCU Center. Avoid the fees, arrive early and buy the tickets at the box office.

I read your post and could not believe the amount you quoted, and I was right. It is more! $39.95. (Service fee, facility fee and processing fee) Free delivery, however. Worcester Center folded because notoriously frugal Worcesterites (I was one of them) would not pay a $1 parking fee. This does not auger well for a big crowd.

How is it that no other competitor has come forward to seriously contest Ticketmaster? They must have a license to print money. [note to self: buy Ticketmaster stock ]

I try to avoid Ticketmaster at all costs. Show up an hour before the game and you’ll be fine. Can’t imagine there will be more than 4K there.

At least Ticketmaster is better than the legalized scalpers like StubHub or Ace. That is still damning with faint praise

So, Tom, you are saying that Ticketmaster charges less (note: not "fewer" ) than the other two? That's really hard to believe but I will defer to your greater expertise.
