Win by 18. But when they make the highlight reel for this season, there won’t be much from this game.

Perhaps a few of the blocks and the drives underneath by Faw.

OK, HC chose OPTION 1 OPTION #1 * A win raises the team record to 5-3 (winning records have been few and far between lately). * A "statement" win by a margin of 10 or more (atypical for CBC coached teams) shows the team is back on track headed into the UMass and URI games.

6 blocks for Jehyve Floyd this afternoon moves him past Josh Sankes into 4th place on the all-time HC blocks list with 139. Malcolm Miller is next with 143 in 3rd place.

As to my "wish list"... 1. A Holy Cross win CHECK 2. HC stopping FDU's 3-point shots. CHECK (only 3 of 16) 3. Improved rebounding (both OR and DR) by HC OK, "better" but still out rebounded by 4 4. Improved scoring by all the team, especially JF. CHECK 5. An effective 8-9 man HC rotation. OK, 7 (with two getting limited minutes) What is the situation with CN? Only 5 minutes (8 for Copeland).

Defensive rebounding was quite poor again, just 63% of the available boards at that end.

Looks like the players did not want to disappoint you. Looking forward to seeing your "wish list" for the UMass game.

KenPom has digested the HC-FDU game and his calculations make HC #151 now (we were #156). He has us as #197 on Offense and #110 on defense, which we point out again as a dramatic improvement over last season.

Only 5 minutes (8 for Copeland).I feel like I'm seeing the Robert Dinero circle of trust. By my count, only 6 guys got minutes through the first 19 minutes of the 2nd half

Yeah, Tom, we discussed this post-game but let me help you out here. I think you mean DeNiro. Di nero was probably the guy who fiddled while Rome burned. Or, maybe "nada dinero?"

Semi-serious note. I think Stony Brook was the only 40 minute game for us this season. Towards the end, we reverted to form with some lazy passes that were telegraphed, picked off and, to use a football expression, had a few "pick 6s."
But, I'm more than happy to take the win. Now bring on UMass!

Stadium had the game (NESN broadcast) until the end, and a bit of the post-game. In my part of Delmarva, game was on from the beginning.
That said, HC very sloppy at times, either trying to do too much, or simply too cavalier and not focused. When HC is in sync, they look very good.
The announcers seemed to have watched the Harvard-HC game, occasional comments about HC's problems in that game.
AB looks as if he has emerged from repeated rugby scrums.

It's the other way around: as I've mentioned before, NESN merely airs the HC produced Stadium broadcast.

If the guys make the shots they should make, this team could be pretty good.

A few observations from today...JF was a force at both ends, especially on D. FDU would drive an then look elsewhere rather than shoot. Not a penetrate and kick but "Nope, not going to get it blocked"... HC did a very solid job on D overall. They didn't allow FDU to get open looks at the hoop, and consistently stopped penetration..HC forced a bunch of shot clock violations early, good team D...On offense, HC got a lot of very good looks, didn't make a lot of shots in the first half, and got better shots in the second half to pull away...AB goes hard all the time. I jiust wish he would slow down when he gets to the hoop, gather himself and make the shot. Against weaker players he does this, against better teams he seems to rush his shot causing misses..CG is so solid with the ball, rarely makes a bad play, and can make shots when needed..I thought HC got a bit complacent vs the press late..Some soft passes, and players not moving to the ball to receive it. I understand HC wanted to use some clock late vs the press, however, I think they need to look at the hoop a bit more and take a layup when it shows up...
ON to UMASS..My UMass buddy told me Siena beat UMass in a scrimmage... If we can shoot it well, we win it.
p.s. Has anybody else noticed how much better JF has gotten handling the ball? He now can help vs pressure with his dribble a bit!

Pretty good win today. Oh ya, I know Pommeroy or Smomerory may have them 100 places behind HC, but they were quicker and more athletic than HC, and outlasrted them last year. HC’s D smothered them all game, especially in the second half. They played through a poor long range shooting day, and looked pretty good passing and moving the ball on offense. Seemed that everyone contributed. I was a bit concerned when they went behind by seven in the first half, but they never lost their poise and brought the game even by the half. A much better team and effort than they showed at Harvard on Tuesday. BTW, at the start of the game, at the end of the anthem, CoachHerenda came across court and shook hands with a couple HC basketball alums that were sitting courtside. He is a class act!! On to UMass, a winnable game if the boys bring their A Game!
