Maybe 2pm would have been a decent compromise. I can empathize with sader1970, though - last week after the Harvard game I got detoured on my way home. Had my face pressed up against the windshield at one corner trying to make sure there was no island in the middle of the street while I was turning! Man, getting old not so much fun sometimes. Old age is not for the faint of heart!

i might have to do Mezcal, unless I can drop kids with their unsuspecting, but very loving grandparents. Moynagh's will be fine. Kids love bologna on white and pickled eggs for lunch. After the UMass Centrum game a couple of years ago, there was a six year old in Moynagh's. Not a big deal at all - at least until his mother accidentally found out a year later

We have to get rid of all these weekend day game starts. Just not going to get decent crowds. I, for one, would absolutely have gone to this game if it started at 7 or so...no way I can get there for a 1 tip. What's up with that Canisius 2pm tip on a Thursday all about btw? Not that I agree with it, but they've done this the last couple of years right before Christmas so the guys get an earlier get-away. For what it's worth, I bumped into a couple of players leaving Hart after one of these games, and they loved it. Even the kids prefer to start a road trip in the late afternoon than late at night - especially if they're getting on a plane to go home for Christmas

Makes no sense. Designed for their primary audience - "seniors". 2PM games are just fine especially for some with longer commutes

Let’s not underestimate them but bring home a win!

It is some step up for this team to think that fans might actually "underestimate" a team from URI. This is a big game for them (as well as for HC). I hope the Rams are the ones who underestimate the talent they will face this weekend.

Maybe 1PM will allow a family crowd to attend...rich families at those prices. HC has been spending a few bucks on advertising the game on Telegram.com and perhaps other outlets. thing is, 1pm is a bad time for a family.

Disagree cmo. 7pm and getting home with young kids at 10p or later is not ideal if you have single digit age kids.

Agree with that. It’s brutal. Just feel like 80% of families (especially a sports oriented family that is likely to go), will have their own youth games during day.
No time will make everyone happy. Hopefully HC picked the time that will get most fannies in the seats.
I’d pick 4:00.
(Like the joke about the pre-Kraft/Parcells Patriots:
-what time is the game today?
-it depends, what time can you get here?)

For those in RI, SE MA, and Eastern CT who are unable to attend or view, this game will be on WEEI 103.7FM.

Going back to the late 60's with the games at the Woo Aud, the traditional starting time for most Saturday games (if I recall correctly) was closer to 8:15 PM following the freshman game at 6 PM.
The only time I can recall playing in the afternoon on a Saturday was when we were selected for the "ABC Game of the Week" and it was typically against BC.
Those were great games......although we rarely ended up the victor.

Perhaps we rarely ended up the victor because BC had a great coach from 1963-69 who guided the Eagles to five post season appearances.

Today's game should be at 7:00, the game will probably end around 8:30, early enough to get the kids home to bed. Saturday afternoon at 1:00 is not the perfect time.

The game that someone outside of the uri hc family would like to watch is not on NESN. Makes sense!

Curious as to where other season ticket holders were assigned seats at DCU today. Disappointed to see my tickets are in corner I’d end zone. Better off buying at DCU than season tickets.

Same area. Not sure if it’s baseline or corner at what has typically been the HC bench. I think 5 rows off the floor. Not the best way to treat your season ticket holders.

Agreed and ticket manager gave me a lame excuse. Very disappointed especially friends bought group tickets yesterday and got seats at center court

But am pleased to note that the ticket manager responded to my whining (and yes I did whine) and came up with a solution.

Guess it’s a bit late to whine, but in past years have been right behind the scorers table end of the HC bench with many season tix holders nearby.
Don’t understand why that changed and it’s not a difficult correction once you find the problem. Email your season ticket holders and tell them an error was made and to exchange their tix at the door if they desire. Particularly if the crowd is in the typical 3000 DCU range.

No better way to treat your few remaining loyal season ticket holders who have put up with the last 10 years than stick them in the corner for the biggest game of the year so you can make a couple extra bucks selling the “good seats” to the public.

I am in section 124 - not center court but not in the corner either.
I am sure there will be a lot of empty seats - so probably easy to move
